Thats Don Collins just down the street from hotel El Convento (one of my favorites). I just smoked and gifted the last of the ones I had. Perhaps this is an excuse for another trip

Re: Puerto Rico 965's

I brought my own last time I was in PR. I think I'll have to sample the local cigar flavor next time.

Asi!

Re: Puerto Rico 965's

In addition to Don Collins, (as Don Collins only sells Don Collins) there is a place on Fortaleza called The Cigar House. They have (last time I was there) one of the biggest selections of cigars I have ever seen. They had more Opus X's in one place than I have seen next to Moki's photos from the factory. If you go to PR check that place out too. There is one other place but it is very small (not far from the cigar house) and the selection not so good. Also duty free at SJU had a lot of La Aurora boxes. Damn I need to get back there.

I just got back from San Juan, Puerto Rico. There is a Don Collins shop downtown where I stopped and bought a cigar. They even gave me one free to try! Nice, smooth, sweet cigar! BTW, the Hoja Boricuas are fantastic! DBall got me started on these. Great smoke!

Always good to see fellow boricuas around. My family is from Aguadilla, but I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I'm currently in my second combat tour in Iraq. I'm also interested in finding a genuine Puerto Rican cigar. If you have luck, please let me know. Thanks!

What are the laws like in Puerto Rico regarding smoking? I'm heading there for my honeymoon in Sept.

Pretty much the same as illinois. Basically no smoking in public buildings (bars restaurants, clubs). The good thing is that it is warm enough to smoke outside year round.

Re: Puerto Rico 965's

I have family there so I normally stay with them in Jayuya. However, I've been pretty much every where on the island and its all nice depending on your opinion. I mean theres definitely places that you may not want to go to but for the most part every where its nice. I can't remember whats in Luquillo, but I know I've been there. What are you going to be doing when your there? Site seeing, beaches, etc.?

Probably relaxing at the beaches, might take a couple day trips, one to Culebra, and another just to go sightseeing on some of the smaller islands.

Re: Puerto Rico 965's

The small islands off the coast are fun but they're basically just for the beaches. There isn't much else on them. If you surf, Rincon is the place to be and has some cool beaches like crashboat beach. Bocaron is a must for beaches (kind of cool with the black sand). Since Luquillo is near Fajardo you should also check out Ikakos. Its a very tiny island off the coast and if you can hire a boat its an awesome place to take a trip out to. There isn't anything on the island but beach but taking a cooler and a picnic lunch out there for the day and just relaxing is cool.
