The small islands off the coast are fun but they're basically just for the beaches. There isn't much else on them. If you surf, Rincon is the place to be and has some cool beaches like crashboat beach. Bocaron is a must for beaches (kind of cool with the black sand). Since Luquillo is near Fajardo you should also check out Ikakos. Its a very tiny island off the coast and if you can hire a boat its an awesome place to take a trip out to. There isn't anything on the island but beach but taking a cooler and a picnic lunch out there for the day and just relaxing is cool.

Im from the Island and I agree with CHRONO 14, and dont forget to take a look at the art galeries in el Viejo San Juan ( Old San Juan ) and by doing that you will no doubt run into a B&M Shop.
