Re: nat sherman
Nat Shermans to me have always tasted green and grassy, or harsh and oily for the maddies. Can't say I'm a fan, especially for what most places sell them for.

Re: nat sherman
I love herfing at Nat Sherman's place in NYC, but their smokes aren't my fav.
Pinar's do indeed suck. Padron's are in fact good. Last edited by carbonbased_al; 10-24-2005 at 10:13 PM.. |

Re: nat sherman
I absolutely LOVE Nat Sherman cigarettes and my wife and I smoke them all the time.. I have looked for the cigars forever but cannot find any sources for them locally.. I'm not sure if the cigars are any good but I love the cigs.

I'm new to the forums but I just had to bump this thread....
I owe my current state of cigar bliss to a Nat Sherman Host - Hobart. I smoked swisher sweets now and then (couple times a year actually). Then one day I went into a local smoke shop to buy a lottery ticket for the Mega Millions drawing (somthing else I only do a couple times a year) and the guy behind the counter (knowing I smoked a Swisher now and then) said "Here try this" and gave me (as in a freebie) a Nat Sherman Host - Hobart. I had never had a hand-rolled top shelf cigar before and I smoked it on the way home.... I had to stop halfway home because the experiance was so incredible. That was July 2005 and its been a down hill slide since. By September I had smoked half a box of Nats and bought a whole bunch of singles. In October I got myself a Tupuador started. And last week I bought a box of RyJ's and a humidor. Never saw it coming. Dave ![]() |

Re: nat sherman
I went down to Nat Sherman's looking for a box of partagas limited...after seeing the price offered at well of $400 I blacked out. I awoke several minutes later in a daze and had to be helped out of the store.

Re: nat sherman
I love going into Nat Sherman when it's cold outside at lunchtime. I never buy their cigars, however, I usually buy a Padron Londres Maduro. And jr-_p, it's not that Nat is overpriced, it's our damn NY taxes.

Re: nat sherman
I expected them to be alittle more expensive...but on the website they advertise them for 281.00, thats a HUGE markup..sigh

Re: nat sherman
I don't know about those NY taxes, but I do know about the Manhattan mark-up. Everything in Manhattan (or any big city for that matter) will cost more than anywhere else. The whole thing with Nat's was just hugely disappointing. They shouldn't advertise one price on their website and charge another at their store. I also thought their walk-in humidor and smoking lounge would be impressive, and it really wasn't. The humidor itself was nice. They have little lockers that you can rent and everything. The lounge, though, is inside the humidor, to the right, and about the size of my ferrets' cage with two or three seats and a small, round coffee table in it.
We found a place in Great Neck that's smaller, but gives you a big screen lcd tv to watch while you sit, smoke, and/or drink and chat with people. We (my bro and I) were even invited to their tasting event (la aroma de cuba, i think it was) where the gentleman told us they'll be handing out free cigars, having specials for sale, and just having a good time. |

Re: nat sherman
sirxlaughs, next time make a left right before the humidor and enjoy the huge leather chairs, plasma tv, and complimentary coffee.

Re: nat sherman
Looks like I'll be revisiting Nats.
When I looked left, I think there was apparel for sale and a small corridor with an Exit sign at the end, so I didn't go there. Guess it's the exit to the lounge. hah |
