Hey Volt-- Sumatra is a seed stock---it encompasses the blechy stuff (a technical term) from Indonesia and the truly fine Ecuadoran stuff that you find on 6 out of 10 of the top rated cigars in any magazine rating.
Ecuador Sumatra is extremely versatile and ranges in color from Connecticut yellow to candela green to light colorado, to dark rosado to very dark sungrown--sometimes all from the very same plant-- MOST of the popular "rosados" have this wrapper

Volt, the Rocky Patels use Ecuadorian Sumatra, gives a nice taste and appearance. Just packed them up for you, the wife will drop them off tomorrow morning on the way into work. Hope you enjoy them.

Good stuff...thank you!

Is this why the CFO #7 reserva ranges in so many different colors? FWIW I found the lighter CFO#7 to be much better tasting. The darker ones I cant seem to finish ...yet. Perhaps they need more time?

Anyway very interesting topic regarding rosados...sorry for the hijack...discuss!

They are sleeping in the humi awaiting this Sat night for a firey death. I saw and picked up a fiver of Partagas Rosados from cbid. Gonna do a little comparison to the RPs you sent me.

Re: Let's talk about Rosado

Perdomo used to make a real nice rosado wrapped smoke in their La Tradicion line. Was discontinued back in 2004. You can find em every once in a while, and if you do take the chance to try it.

Re: Let's talk about Rosado

Bought a box of the Partagas Spanish Rosado probably one/two years ago. Very good looking gar, but definately a spicier and bitter taste then I was expecting, although it contained some good flavors. It was a fairly complex cigar, medium bodied. Some Humi time helped them, but I recommend letting these sit for a little about a year if you have the patience.
