Let's talk about Rosado

Ok, from the AS thread I saw and was intrigued by the Rosado wrapper on his stick. I'm trying a bid or two at the devol site to try this wrap out. It seems to be a fairly limited topic/discussions on it.

Anyone here knowledgeable about this wrapper?

Re: Let's talk about Rosado

1. Standard on the Opus & Pepin uses it on at least 3 of his blends.
2. I've herd them described as a spicy wrapper, but I don't get that personally. I think they are full of flavor though, maybe a slight sweetness like a toned down Cameroon.
3. Really toothy - I've never seen one that was even a little smooth.

Hmmm sounds good then I am bidding on some at the devil site, Partagas types. I like the look of them in the picture. I do love a Cameroon. I sure hope I don't like them, I like to many as it is.

Re: Let's talk about Rosado

Volt, pm me your address, I have a couple of Rocky Patel Rosado Toros that have over a year on them. They have a nice full spicy flavor and I think that you might enjoy them. All joking aside, I have a sense of honor, I am a retired Marine NCO and I might kill you but I would not lie to you too severely. Paul

Re: Let's talk about Rosado

I just saw the Pepins at the devil site. Lost the Partagas Rosados, it got ran up right close to MSRP. Mr. Taltos has arranged for me to get one to try, so I'll see if they taste as good as they look.

Not sure I would call the Opus X toothy...

There are like three boxes of some Rosado Torpedos of some sort at my B&M. Rosado twist as well - the color frightened me to be totally honest.

Be careful chasing the R, it might lead to looking for an 858 R or the Brain Hemorrhage - that could be a dangerous slope

Re: Let's talk about Rosado

IMO, rosado is nothing more than a color grade. Don't let this fool you into thinking it tastes different. I personally think a true rosado is beautiful to look at, which enhances my smoking experience. I'll never forget my first box of Perdomo La Tradicion's (in 1999) rosado that turned my mouth "red".

Re: Let's talk about Rosado

I'm with you Trashman---
Rosado what? There are Rosado grades of almost every specie of leaf. And the flavor is going to reflect the type of leaf, not the fact that its rosado. MOST of what people refer to when they say rosado are Ecuador Sumatras, hence the nice spice associated with them.

Is that a specific cigar or a specific wrap? Inwuiring minds need to know.

Re: Let's talk about Rosado

Maybe I'm completely in the wrong here, but when I see information like this, assume that the notation of Rosado would go beyond the color otherwise all the leaves would have color notations.
