Celebratory Cigar - Promotion

Hey all,

I just found out this morning that I will pin on Captain out here in the sandbox of Iraq on July 1st. This gives me enough time to get some cigars for everyone, so I am looking for a good celebratory cigar. Do any of you seasoned vets have suggestions? I'm a newbie as you can see, but I will try anything worth trying. Looking forward to your replies.

Celebratory cigar?

If money's not an option I'd certainly suggest Padron Aniversary Editions 1964!!!

I guess I would probably like to get cigars for all of my Soldiers, so if $$ isn't a biggie, what price are we looking at?

Taboo has a whole bunch of the Padrons aniverserys and if you go to this link : http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?t=161235
there is a 25% of code for your whole order from them. which should bring a box to around 150-175

Okay....looks like the Padron is pretty popular. I'm seeing several of the 1964's (Torpedoe, Series A, Pyramide, Principe, Monarca, Imperial, Exclusivo, etc...). Gentlemen, can you impart wisdom on me once more as to the one I should choose?

If it's a celebration go with the Torpedo.

Where do you buy cigars out there? Can you get to any of the Gulf nations to buy? Habanos prices are pretty low in several of those countries.

Not for nothing...

Can United States soldiers smoke Cuban cigars?

Isn't it illegal for US citizens to smoke Cuban cigars, period?

There is no place to buy cigars out here. That is why I am trying to find it online. I'm at a very small base in Iraq with some shady Iraqi vendors....I wouldn't smoke anything they try to sell me....LOL

Are you anywhere near the Tiki Hut guys? I think they're well stocked from the generous gorillas here.

Re: Celebratory Cigar - Promotion

Nope....I'm at a relatively new, up and coming base out here. I'm actually trying to get enough donations to start up a weekly cigar night for my guys. We are going to get some lumber and build a nice little smoke area and have a smoke out every saturday night. I plan to take pictures and post them in the forum after our weekly events. Tiki hut does sound kind of cool though...

I want to get the Padrons for my promotion though, so I will keep shopping around until I find them
