Fondest cigar memory
My fondest memory that included smoking a good cigar was on a sunset cruise in Key West a couple of years ago. A great stick with friends, family and a single malt.
I'm curious to see if anyone else has a "great cigar moment".

Re: Fondest cigar memory
I have a lot of a "great cigar moment"...s One of my favorites goes back to high school smoking Hoyo de Monterry #1s with my best friend in a Byerlys resteraunt in Mpls. The two of us smoked these big churchills for like two hours. In hindsight I think were actually pretty rude and I wouldn't do that again since we put like a three foot layer of smoke accross the ceiling of that resteraunt.
Still it's a great memory and we have come a long way since then. Another is having a Punch Punch on the beach in St. Maarten at about 3 in the morning on my honeymoon. Thats two to start with. This should be a fun thread.

Re: Fondest cigar memory
My only cigar I ever smoked with my Dad on his 69th Birthday, after handing him his first Cuban.
Sancho Sanchos on the beach at the first Shack Herf with Da Klugs and DonJefe. A Taboada on my birthday in Vegas, with a beautiful Cuban blackjack dealer dealing me nothing but 20s and Blackjacks. Just about every cigar I have ever smoked in the company of another CS Gorilla.

Re: Fondest cigar memory
Probably having a cigar with my Dad at deer camp in northern New York while I was in college. Don't remember what kind but it didn't matter. Just sitting there cleaning our rifles and smoking and talking to each other as equals.

Re: Fondest cigar memory
I saved for several years, sold a few toys and in 1998 my wife and I did a 18 day trip to South Africa for a Plains Game hunt. This was some big poop for a kid who grew up on Hemingway, Ruark and ALWAYS dreamed of hunting Africa.
A few days into the hunt I had the opportunity to sit alone , with my .375 H&H across my lap and smoke a nice cigar while I watched the sky get red as the sun set. In the background I had everything from the whoops of monkeys and the strange chatter of zebras to hearing a REAL LION calling for his ladies!! Out in front of me impala, wildebeest and zebra were feeding. Off in the distance I could see several giraffes with their heads above the trees. An image I never forgot. FN in MT ![]() |

Re: Fondest cigar memory
Got to smoke a Punch RS #12 '00 with my youngest son the day he graduated high school. Particularly satisfying as I never accomplished that for myself and it felt good to see my son start out on a better track than I did.
