Online ordering etiquette

I was curious, how soon is too soon to wonder and inquire if your order got lost. First time I've ever ordered online, and I don't want to appear impatient, yet I don't know what the typical turnaround is. Any input appreciated, I don't want to come across like a jerk to a site recommended vendor. (keeping in mind, I haven't waited all that long, I just want to calm my early paranoia)

How long has it been since you placed the order?

Day and a half, I only ask because it hasn't hit the CC yet. Typically businesses can't wait to charge you, which is the only reason I wondered.

That is really fast. A week is the norm, imo. Some places only ship on certain days too and they don't charge you till they ship.

Patience grasshopper......

I was just about to ask, where did you order? Most websites allow you to see the status of your order, if you have created an account that is.

I find I usually receive orders between 2-5 days.

Re: Online ordering etiquette

Send the online vendor email for a status update and when should you expect to see the charge on your credit card. There's nothing offensive about that.

Re: Online ordering etiquette

I have some vendors that will ship next day (with and without notification) and I have some that will ship only after it reaches the CC company (usually after 3 days.) The charge is there but it's in a pending status. Once the vendor get they authorization number the order is shipped. (It sounds like you have one of these vendors.)

Don't sweat it.

Re: Online ordering etiquette

Just figured I'd finish this topic off by saying I got my order today. I really was just being an impatient idiot apparently.

A comment on the service. I ordered a 5 pack Pepin Garcia sampler and a 5 pack blow-out sampler. The Pepin sampler did not include the Centurion, but provided two Vegas Cubanas in it's stead. Works out great for me as I have wanted to try these, and didn't particularly enjoy the last Centurion I had.

The blow out deal actually actually sent me 6 instead of the 5 promised. Bunch of stuff I've never tried before. Won't bore you with the details.

Kris at Tobacco World Cigars really did right by me and scored a life long customer. 4 day turn around and very good shipping, figured I'd share my experience with you.

Great to hear, bro. Just remember, patience is always rewarded in this hobby of ours. TW is top-notch. As an official Pepin Whore, the Centurion isn't his best and really not worth the price. I will tell you that Pepin himself says to store his cigars in the low 60's to get the max out of them and that is very. very true. I rarely smoke a Pepin before it has 4-6 months rest in my humidors to really acclimate to the environment. He uses mosty corojo and criollo tobaccos and they soak up water like a sponge. That's why they smoke better when they are little dryer. As a matter of fact, I think all cigars smoke better when stored in the 60-65% range. However, that is just my opinion as others like a wetter cigar. Enjoy 'em!
