Really the only cigars I can see being standoutish are those acids. Being flavored and all. Next day aftertaste must really be nasty with those ![]() |

That statement is fraught with really great potential, yet also great danger. There is the obvious follow up question, yet I don't know if I actually want to fire that one off out of deference to the few sisters of the leaf we have. Then there are the humorous regional putdowns, such as "Particularly hard to find in South Florida," but I'm sure South Florida has its share of virtuous women (so to speak). It being the Christmas season, I could go the direction of it being better to give than receive, but would anyone buy that? So, I'll just ask if I can get those at the local B&M or if they are special order? Are they more expensive than Henry Clay smokers mints? How convenient are they to carry around with you? |

DARN!
The knowledge level on this board has been going waaaayy up! The really isn't a whole lot more I can add here. Good discussion. As for me personally, I just get used to the smell sticking, but I'm careful with how I handle the cigars and with personal hygiene. Just my .

Also, for your hands - try the soaps from Williams Sonoma. They work wonders with the smell. The lime, lemon, orange, bergamot or fennel all work well. http://ww2.williams-sonoma.com/sch/k...n=KWD&flash=on |

Re: Help with some cigar dislikes, please
I'm sort of new at this, but I've found that eating a handful of a snack and doing a really thorough job at brushing (roof, gums, tounge included) usually does it for me. Altoids are also a habit of mine, and maybe that is helping, too. Maybe if you sip a cola or brew while smoking...

Re: Help with some cigar dislikes, please
Personally I love the smell of cigar tobacco so having it my hands doesn't bother me...I also love the aftertaste...when you've had a really great cigar and the taste just lingers a while it extends the experience...fortunately my cat likes the smell on my hands, and my GF doesn't mind the mouth smell as she loves cigars and smokes them herself ocassionally...life is good...

Re: Help with some cigar dislikes, please
Well, all I can say is...WOW!!! Blue and N8, I'm a fair ways down the perversion brick road, and....well, WOW!!!
Anyhow, being a fairly new smoker myself, I, too, in the beginning, thought this was a issue. My first Mac stuck with me for 2 days after, and yes, I brushed, gargled, everything I could to try and get rid of it. Now that a few months have passed, it is more of a welcome taste in the mouth than offensive. I never notice the hand smell, I like to let the stogies rest in an ashtray when I'm not drawing on it, and I always have to smoke outside (kids and a wife inside). Now if anyone has a recommendation for the inside of my car, that's what I'm interested in. Even with all four windows down (and it being in the low 30s here), my wife can still smell smoke in the car, days after. She deals with it, but I try to be respectful. Ironically, she enjoys sitting out back with me, smoking a Fuente of her own. Be good, Drevim |

Re: Help with some cigar dislikes, please
I'm a relative newb to cigar smoking, and I used to have horrific aftertaste problems. But about six months ago, I started to slow waaaaay down, savoring the cigar, and I no longer have that "morning after mouth", and in fact, don't really have much of an aftertaste lingering even right after finishing the stick.

I love the taste that is left in my mouth after smoking. Goes great with stringcheese.

Odd thing, I was going to say in my post, that the taste goes good with a dry or semi dry red wine (or Crown) and a mild or sharp cheddar. Maybe it's just me. |
