Help with some cigar dislikes, please

I'm new enough to cigars that I don't know all the tricks of the trade.. but here goes.. I'm sure it'll sound like pure blasphemy to you afficionados.

I love smoking cigars and just enjoying the moment.. things I dont like however are:

The smell that lingers on my hands into the next day dispite washing hands with soap (even scented soap).

Worse then that, however:

I smoked a CAO MX2 Robusto last night.. it was ok.. read my review in the non-havana review forum if you want a chuckle..

Anyway, I woke up this morning and still could taste cigar in my mouth. It's rather repugnant to wake up to, IMHO.

Yes I brushed my teeth before bed like usual and even used listerine (as usual).

Are there any tricks of the trade that really get that flavor out of your mouth? It's not a pleasant one after the cigar is long gone...

Thanks, I hope I've offended no one.

-Ryan

Smoke better cigars - you won't have all of those symptoms.

I don't think so. I too find it a weird, yet somehow plesant "after effect". Hell, I know I'm going to be opening the door up for a lot of comments on this one...but I also enjoy the way my fingers smell after smoking a cigar. These just serve as small reminders through the rest of my day of how good that cigar I just smoked was.

Re: Help with some cigar dislikes, please

I have read this once before and in addition to the suggestions already mentioned someone suggested slowing down, not smoking your cigar so fast. I have begun doing that and it does seem to help. Now, if it's a bad cigar nothing seems to help.

Quality of leaf has nothing to do with it. I know plenty of habana smokers who hate the aftertaste.

Get a tongue scrapper, brush with toothpaste(an important step), and in the shower axe body gel. Works wonders for me.

Smoke more cigars. You will get used to it & hardly notice it after awhile.

Re: Help with some cigar dislikes, please

I read your MX2 review and I believe you sir may be a cronic ass scratcher in your sleep. That is the only thing I could think of regarding your fingers smelling of ass.

On a serious note, as said above many times before me I don't believe it is the cigar being of poor quality but any cigar. I for one do not notice a bad aftertaste in my mouth (maybe I am used to it) but I would just try different methods until you find something that works to rid you of the taste. I would asume it is different for everyone.

AS I said in the last thread on this subject, the only thing that really works for me is oral sex with a 21 year old female virgin, they're just so damn hard to find these days.

Sorry bud, it's smoke. It will smell. But like AndyMan said, you'll get used to it.

Bull$hit - quality of smoke definitely has an impact on the nasty nicotine after taste and the smell. Quality is not always related to price or where the product is from - think I'm kidding - smoke a couple of DiNobli's in one night.
