Question Fresh rolled cigars ?

A local shop said they were having a fresh rolled cigar event , Should I bother to go or is it a gimmick ? What are the differences in a fresh rolled cigar as compared to the regular cigar inventories ? I don't remember the actual date but I will check next time I'm in that shop .

Re: Fresh rolled cigars ?

Get some definately.

Its great watching them rolled. Smoke one as soon as you get it. Sometimes freshly rolled ones are great. If you buy a bunch you can smoke one everysix months or so and then you will probably be able to taste what aging does to a cigar.

But definately smoke one of them as soon as it is rolled for you. Enjoy !

Re: Fresh rolled cigars ?

we had the Don Lino African guys at my local shop awhile back who were supposed to freshly rolled cigars. turns out all they did was put on the wrapper, and the one i had right from the table was the tightest draw i can remember.

Definately give it a shot. Nothing as good as a fresh rolled cigar. Use to go to a place in New Orleans that did this. Always interesting.

Re: Fresh rolled cigars ?

Definitely go! I've always wanted to go to a cigar rolling event but due to logistics I've not been able to.

Re: Fresh rolled cigars ?

Well sure it's a gimmick to get you in to the store to buy some Cigars but, depending on the blend and the roller they could be some great cigars. Why not give em a try?

Re: Fresh rolled cigars ?

they are different...they have a very earthy taste, they taste different than any other cigar. I personally don't care for them, but they are definately worth trying.

Re: Fresh rolled cigars ?

at the rolling events all the do is put the wrappers on... the binder and fillers have to be molded to shape an that can be time consuming.. been to a few of these type of events and it is always a good time..... where at in Jersey is this event?

Re: Fresh rolled cigars ?

I have been to a couple of these events. I also visited the Moore & Bode factory in Miami. Sharon Moore showed me around and I got to see the different steps involved. I bought a few bundles after the little tour. It was intersting to watch the craftmanship involved in rolling them.

I would check out the event. It is fun and you will get to meet some other cigar people.
