Some very fine sticks there. Did you tell them what you wanted or does your family have good taste in cigars?? I was happy with a few gift certificates from smoke shops. You get 8 BOXES!!I got ripped!! I think I need to go buy some for myself.

Enjoy them now, you can always get more

. Most Non Cuban Cigars don't need to be aged to enjoy as the Tobacco is usually aged sufficiently before it is rolled. Enjoy!!!

I'm not sure I'm going to be able to make it a year on these. What has got me on the aging kick, is that most of the cigars I have gotten recently were green. I had purchased some of the El Rey Del Mundos- green, and unimpressive. So I let them set for six months- wow what a difference. They turned into amazing smokes. So, here I am now trying to figure out how to age all my cigars.

Yep, you got to the right point. I gave the gave the family my wish list. Some I new were very good, others I am hoping are innexpensive but will age into nice smokes. My next move is to start working on some ISOMs to put away. Any recommendations?

Thanks. But lately this hasn't been the case for me. Maybe I'm just unlucky, but the majority of smokes I have purchased in the last few months have been very green. I have orders from CAO, Perdomo, 5 Vegas, all green since ~October. And these were smokes I had purchased previously without any problem.??

Strange...I got some 5 Vegas Limitadas, and they were good to go straight out of the gate.

Partagas #10
Saint Luis Rey Reserva Especial Maduro Rothchilde
Cuesta-Rey Centenario No. 60 Maduro
Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 Churchill
Juan Lopez Epicure #1
Perdomo Champagne Toro
Perdomo Reserve Camaroon Robusto
El Rey Del Mundo Robusto Larga- Maduro Toro

What I would like to do is let them age for about a year, and then have a nice stock of great cigars to smoke. Will it work? Is there anything special I should be doing, other than keeping the temperature and humidity stable, to improve my odds that this venture will be successful?

*Coolador- 120 quart Igloo ice chest, assorted chunks of cedar from cigar boxes, 2 crystal gel humidification canisters, digital hygrometer, comfortable spot in my basement.

I'll tell you an easy solution.
Send 2 of those cigars from each box to me,
And i'll smoke them and tell you if they need to be aged any further.
If they do need to be aged (and i'm telling you they will be)
I'll need you to send 2 more from each box after every 6 months of aging for further analysis.

thanks much,
blake.

Re: I just got 8 boxes of cigars, now what?

to be honest, i'd set aside about half or a quarter of each box for smoking, then i would right the date on the outside of all the other boxs and them forget about them for atleast a year, then smoke a couple and see what you think. if you just can't stand not smoking the rest then go ahead, but if you can hold out for a couple of more years then i'd go for it and see how they turn out. good luck

I like your thinking. I'll let you know in a year how it all turned out...if they make they make it that long.
