Padilla Miami 8/11 comments?

Anyone have any comments on Padilla Miami 8/11 cigars in general or specifically on the Robusto?

I just ordered a box on account of the score in CA's Cigar Insider (91). I thought it would be interesting to smoke a stick made in the US. Other than the score, the Insider had no tasting details.

I'd appreciate any input. I should be receiving the box soon, but since I'm not very experienced, I doubt I'd recognize any particulars in the cigar that CA usually elaborates on.

Thanks.

I picked up a couple at my B&M, still have 1 left. It was a pretty good smoke.
They are certainly a strong smoke, in fact I can't think of anything I've had that was more full bodied then this one.

Already a discussion on this. Try this thread:

Anyways, good smoke. But too expensive imho. I can get a better box of cubans for the price of these.

Decent smoke, strong and flavorful, more complex than I thought it would be but after seeing how much they cost for a box I think I can get better for the money.

The few that I've smoked have been really enjoyable. I only have two left at this point out of ten that were initially purchased.

I read the reports and read this forum. I found a shop near me that carries the brand and tried a few. OK but not for the price. I was interested because of the term Cubanesque flavor that Cigar Aficianado used. Having spent a great deal of time out of the US, I am very familiar with Cubans and there is a Cuban flavor profile that I had hopes to find in these. Disapponted for sure. They are a good cigr but certainly not up to a really good Monte or a glossy box partagas 898. I thought that it might have been the one that I tried..so I smoked two more. Still no blast of that earthy Habana profile.

If you can get REAL Habanas, get em. I still need to try the Tatouja brand....I'll always hope for a legal cigar that brings that Cuban flavor to the party.
