CI Legends Series

What is your take on these so far. I won some Green Label (puros indios), well win is not the best word, more of I was willing to pay the most on a particular day than someone else. I find them to be a very good morning cigar. Very mild, pretty one dimentional but still a good taste. Nice wrappers and they do burn ok.
I know that CI has tried to bill these as their own house brand at $5 a stick retail. Which makes you think these should be pretty good cigars with the makers they have as their "legends"

There have been some good things said about the whites-camacho, but what how about the rest.

Has anyone had the Purple-graycliff?

Nope, but I gonna get some. Love dem graycliffs. I don't like the red or blue labels, white labels are ok, and like you I thought the greens were a decent mild stick. Haven't tried the RP one yet.

Re: CI Legends Series

I like the white and red lables best. Blue is a good smoke also but I personally do not smoke many mild cigars. I have yet to try the two new ones (orange and purple).

Thumbs up Re: CI Legends Series

I have smoked a couple of the new Graycliff Gran Cru cigars in the Robusto size and I like them so far. They are a little fuller tasting then the other Graycliffs with the exception of the Espresso (Black lable). I am still trying to charecterize the flavors further but this is what my first impression has left me with.
I was sent a Gran Cru Salomon which is the big guy of this line. It is a double tapered perfecto that is 7 1/8" in legnth and 48RG, I got it in a make a wish PIF from DaKlugs. I am waiting for the right time to fire that bad boy up without rushing it. I will post a review when that time comes.

I have yet to try the Legend Graycliff series but the G2 Graycliff (Yellow Lable) is a inexpensive treat to enjoy. I strongly recommend them if you like the other Graycliff's. So far the only Graycliff that I don't think I would keep in regular rotation is the Emerald Graycliff. The jury is still out on this one but so far it has been a strangely intriguing cigar with lots of grassy flavors that are not unpleasant just different and not all that accessible to my newby pallet.

Just a few disjointed thoughts about the Graycliff line. Sorry for the ramble...

Re: CI Legends Series

The red labels are Perdomos. I got one in a sampler pack from CI months ago and really liked it. Great construction, ash and draw. Fair amount of smoke too.

I bought a 5 pack of the reds and just had one a few hours ago. Same great ash, draw and burn. Nice smoke. I paired it with a Kahlua and coffee for an hour on the back porch. The coffee overpowered it, so I guess its a bit milder than I remember, but I still enjoyed it.

Overall, I recommend it as a $3 stick (in a five pack) You do get what you pay for and in my opinion its a great bargain smoke.

I do enjoy fuller bodied smokes in general.

Really? The emarald is probably my fav graycliff. It's got such an unusual flavor profile. Candela, but not uber mild.

I've been waiting to try the Orange (Rocky Patel) label, since I got it in an NST. Anyone tried these, have yet to see a review.

I got a 5er of the Orange from the devil, if you like the Edge, you'll like these. They're not as strong but quite enjoyable.

Re: CI Legends Series

Figured I would search about these cigars before making my own thread, and decided to post in this one. I was curious about the rocky patel and greycliff legends, if they live up to the cigars by those makers which I enjoy. I just got a cooler and might stick some cheaper boxes of good non-cubans in there to start taking up some space. I guess after reading this it reminded me that I should find a sampler and give them all a go and buy a box of the ones I enjoy.

Re: CI Legends Series

I started with a five pack of the Red Labels, I had one and was shocked, I loved it. I know have 29 others sitting patiently in my humidors. For the price, this is one everyone should take advantage of, unless that is you are bidding against me on satan.com

Re: CI Legends Series

I had a Legends Purple (Graycliff) last night. Yummy. Tasted very similar to the Profesionale.

I thought the cigar was soft in spots, and I noticed some very small leaves near the cap when I clipped it. Made me think this might be a sandwich cigar, not long filler.

But like I said, yummy. good draw, no burn problems, medium body, lots of spice.

I'm glad I saw this thread. I have thought about buying some of the legends before because they are a good deal. I will have to give some a try.
