Looking for advice

I have a box of Macanudo Hyde Park Maduros that have been in my humidor for a couple years now. I have tried to smoke five of them or the last year or two and everyone has such a tight draw that it is nearly impossible to enjoy them. I have cut them deep, I have squeezed/rolled them, and nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

Obvious question, what's your RH?

Re: Looking for advice

I bought a drawpoker from thompsons and it has saved several cigars. At 25 bucks it seemed kind of expensive but it has saved about 70 bucks worth of cigars.

Re: Looking for advice

If your RH is above 70 in your humidor, try dryboxing them for a day before smoking them.

Re: Looking for advice

I keep my RH at around 68-70. I have never had a problem with any of my cigars.

Re: Looking for advice

The only thing I can think of is maybe trying to dry-box a couple and see what happens.

I got one at Atlantic Cigar for 19.95 + shipping. Works good.

Re: Looking for advice

Maybe the first problem is that they are Macanudos,,,ok, I am kidding. I have goten into the habit of dryboxing all of my smokes for a day or two and that has helped alot because I ran into the same issue you are. I also have a draw poker on those days I can't wait to dry box and I will clip the head and take a pre draw to see if it will draw well, if it seems plugged I will poke the sucker until it is nice and open.

Re: Looking for advice

I dry box all my cigars before I smoke them. If that does not work then I use a Henry's.

Re: Looking for advice

I guess that's what I need to try. As said though, they are Macanudos. I can take or leave them, there are too many other good cigars out there for me to worry about these ones. I just hate to throw away a box of cigars. Thanks for the help guys, your input is always appreciated.

I would absolutely willing to give them up along with some extras. Please instruct me on what I need to do.
