i enjoy samplers myself, but you guys are right. you have to watch out for junk being thrown in to bump up the stick count...
my fave samplers are mono-brand samplers, seem to be the best deal for the loot & i like trying the different vitoloas... actually i would never have have discovered coronas without these samplers.

I think samplers are a great way to try different cigars. As others have said... watch for the few off brands. The other thing I noticed after a while is a lot of samplers have vitolas I don't particularly care for. I now watch for that as well.

People always Bag on Thompson (and sometimes JR) but i believe that the anger is misguided.

Heaven Forbid someone try and make an entity of selling cigars.

I give thompson a 90% rating, due to their great quality, and fair prices. the only thing that docked them 10% are the annoying CSR calls.

And another thing... My humidor i bought fro mthem two months ago was awesome, top quality, you can see it in my intro thread...
When I first started, I use to deal Thompson alot. Some their stuff is alright and you can't find them anywhere else (ie San Victors and Genuine, both Rolando Reyes). It would always take a week or longer to get my product. Whereas all the other sites I use takes two to three business days (mostly two) to get my order. I also have a problem with sites that charge shipping on dollar amounts rather than shipping weight. You can buy a boatload of their crappy house blends or one box of a premium gars and shipping would cost the same. It just doesn't make sense to me. Plus if you compare their prices with other sites you will find that they are almost always more expensive. You just have to do your homework. Needless to say I won't be buying from them again anytime soon.

Samplers are a great way to try different blends. But as noted before you only get one of each so you have to keep notes on which ones you liked. Then you can try a fiver or a brand sampler to see if you really like the brand.

I must say that with CC"s. Ive always bought in boxes and nevers samplers because I value knowing the box code and year of which it came from.
