Cigaring in Manhattan
Hello there my cigar indulging friends! I stick mainly to the pipe, but I do occasionally spark up a cigar, hence this thread.
I'm going to NYC in April for a week, and I was hoping to partake in a few things I can't here in Canada: smoking indoors and low(er) tobacco taxes. I ask for advice on both these veins. Having looked at the locations in New York State thread, and since I'll be staying in Manhattan for the majority of the trip, I've narrowed my smoking areas to two main places: Three Little Indians, in Little Italy Merchants East, in the Upper East Side How are the prices and selections in both of these places? I won't be buying any boxes (CAD is weak and I am spending a lot on this trip), but a fair few singles is very likely. How is the atmosphere of each for two younger guys on a trip? A dress code for Three little Indians would also be appreciated. Are there any other places that I should consider for my cigar needs? Thanks in advance guys! |

Re: Cigaring in Manhattan
Hi Phil - I don't know the two places you mentioned but I had a very nice time at Hudson Bar & Books (http://www.barandbooks.cz/) where you can smoke inside & order a flight of premium scotches (or anything else). There's one up on Lex & 73rd too. I've also considered Club Macanudo (clubmacanudo.com) but have yet to go; it's at 63rd & Madison.
As for stores, I've picked up singles at Barclay-Rex on Lex & 50th, Davidoff on Madison & 54th & JR's (the larges cigar store in the world, evidently) at 5th & 46th. Have a great trip! |

Barclay Rex is great for singles, also De La Concha.
