Cigar Choice...
I've narrowed it down to 2 cigars for my 18th B-Day.
Either a Romeo y Julieta, or a Padron 2000. Was wondering which one will give me the best experience for my first cigar ever ![]() Burn Time, Construction, and Taste wise, I want the best one. If there is another cigar other than one of these two, under $10, please tell me it, and a small description ![]() Thanks in advance! 1 day, 14 hours, and 27 minutes to B-Day! Re: Cigar Choice...
Between those 2 I'm smoking the padron. If your budget is only ten bucks for your 18th b-day I'd get better friends cause if I new you I'd get you a LFD box press iii right now they are like 13 buck and limited. You need a special smoke its your birthday

Re: Cigar Choice...
I would go with the Padron hands down, but I am not a big RyJ fan. Now on the other hand if I could pick an under $10 cigar there are many I would choose over those two. Hmmmm... just one.... hmmmmm!!!
La Gloria Cubana Serie R Don Pepin Garcia Blue Label Ashton San Cristobal Guajiro Olivia Serie V Illusione cg:4 Tatuaje Noellas Would all be on the consideration list... But just one... For a newer smoker... Would have to go with the Olivia. It is creamy and not too strong. |

Re: Cigar Choice...
Taste is totally a matter of preference, and both should be of excellent quality.
I don't know which R&J you have, but most would be milder than the spicier, fuller-bodied Padron. Having said all of that, most experienced smokers would probably prefer the Padron; however R&J typically are very flavorful given their strength and profile, and are very popular as well. Heck, if I were a early into my stogie life and had $10 to spend on a smoke for a special occasion, I'd go for an Arturo Fuente Hemingway Classic. Now that's a good smoke! Not too strong, but smooth with a hint of sweet and spice - great tobacco flavor. |

Re: Cigar Choice...
I'd go with the Padron, but I also enjoy the RyJ #2 cedro (I think that is the only RyJ I've tried). You could get both...smoke one on your birthday and then save the other for the next day or so.

Re: Cigar Choice...
It's your 18th birthday and you only turn it once. For that special occasion I would smoke both. Smoke the RyJ first then smoke the Padron later in the day. Then you can take any money you get as a gift to buy more gars for a later date. Happy Birthday and welcome to the slippery slope!

Re: Cigar Choice...
I agree the Padron will give you a better idea of what a good cigar is all about.

Re: Cigar Choice...
Padron 3000 Maduro. If you can up your budget to 15 - 16 than go for a Padron 1964 Maduro.
