Am i stupid or what i am doing wrong?

I have smoked about 4 cigars in my life now and im 25. And every cigar i have smoked has tasted exactly like a cigarette to me. Im not a regular cigarette smoker, just smoke in parties and stuff.

Am i just picking the wrong cigars or what I am doing wrong because i've read that a cigarette is filth and a cigar is a pleasure to smoke.

So how do I taste that real cigar pleasure?

First off, what cigars have you smoked. If you haven't smoked a quality, handmade cigar, then it will taste like a bad cigarette.

Secondly, you must cut it and light it properly. Use a quality cutter to get an even cut, and light it with a torch lighter or matches. Again, there is a proper technique to even lighting a cigar. It's not like a cigarette where you just light it and take a puff. There is a process to properly light a cigar.

Don't "power puff". Give it a puff, and savor it for a bit. Don't try to smoke it quickly, or it will burn hotter, quicker, and taste poorly.

Watch a few youtube videos on how to properly smoke a cigar for tips.

Make sure you aren't inhaling it directly like a cigarette.

Gotcha....do you know if the ones you smoked had been stored properly? That makes a HUGE difference.

Yes I have watched many many videos on how to light a cigar and im 100% sure im doing it the right way. I also have a quality cigar cutter. But im not however using a torch lighter or matches, just a regular lighter.

Well I have bought them from a real cigar store. They arent dry and they smell great.

Might want to try lighting with some cedar matches or a torch, zippos and Bics can impart a nasty flavor to cigars.

Maybe you just don't like how they taste? Not everybody loves Whiskey for instance. Some people think it's the nectar of the gods, and others think it tastes like spicy urine.

I wish I knew what to tell yah. If you lived near me I'd take you out for a smoke. What part of the country do you live in?

If a Monte No2 tastes like a cigarette to you, I am not quite sure what to say. Maybe try a Vegas Robaina Famoso. I sometimes have trouble discerning flavors from cigars but Robainas I can taste more than just tobocco.
