$15-20 to spend for a nice night

Alright guys here's the deal. While I'm inexperienced in cigar smoking and new to the forums as a registered member, (although I've lurked for about 3 months), I'm looking for your advice for my Friday night.

I'd like to be able to smoke a few nice cigars, or have whatever is available last me for a few hours. I'm on a rather tight budget, but it sounds like there's alot of great deals out there that I could take advantage of. I've never really had the pleasure of smoking a nice cigar, but I think now is the time. If I could manage to stop snapping my hockey sticks, I could justify throwing my pack of Phillies off a mountain and buy something..respectable.

So, what sorts of cigars should I look into for a nice night, for a relatively inexperienced smoker, that will run me around $15-20 and will be somewhat memorable? Just looking for relaxation and a nice taste really. Even with my limited experience, I've thoroughly come to enjoy cigar smoking; so I'm sure this will be a great step.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Matt

If you can can find them at your B&M, Id go with a Perdomo Lot 23 ($4) and then go to a relatively inexpensive place to eat and smoke.

I love Fuente Short Stories. They're what really first got me hooked on good cigars.

Re: $15-20 to spend for a nice night

Are you looking for one cigar in that price range that will last you two hours or do you want to smoke a couple of cigars for that price?

If you are looking for one "premium" cigar in that price range, I would probably try something from:

Padron (1926, 1964)
Tatuaje
Ashton VSG
Illusione

If you are looking for 2-3 cigars for that price, I would try:

Padron (thousand series)
Pepin's (Blue Label, Serie JJ)
Fuente (Hemingway, Don Carlos)

Re: $15-20 to spend for a nice night

Have fun and go to your local B&M and do some shopping,,ask the owner what you're looking for,,have him help you and develop a relationship with someone who will take care of you in your quest. That is how you roll in the cigar world,,,good people who have the same thing in common and people who I feel really want to help others out. It's a win win deal.

I would suggest something more milder since you are just starting to smoke cigars.
the Arturo Fuente short story is a nice cigar also the Camacho corojo.

Re: $15-20 to spend for a nice night

Thanks for the advice so far!

I'd preferably like to buy 2-3 nice cigars, so I'll be heading down that route. A few friends are also starting down the same path, so I'll want to start to develop a small inventory to share with others.

Onyx reserve and Oliva G are two cheap smokes that are quite tasty. You also can't go wrong with the Padron x000 series mentioned above.

I have to agree here, on the Onyx Reserve. I had another one of these over the holidays and I was reminded how nice they are. I think this is a good way to introduce someone to a nice maduro for a great price. Have fun!!
