I use both, prefer Famous. Generally I use cigarplace, best cigar prices, and cigars international.

Re: famous or holts

Got to ditto on some of the Famous comments. Great customer service and, being in Korea, very fast shipping! They get me stuff in about 7 days here.

Re: famous or holts

I've had great times with CI, and have only used famous once but it was a good experience. Same with cigar.com

I recently ordered from both Atlantic Cigar and Tampa Humidor, and both purchases went very well!

I purchased from Pheonix Cigar as well, however, and all my cigars came ruined. They made me ship back and get them "confirmed" as bad before they'd refund my money...and I'm still waiting for a refund....

I have used both of those vendors and have had nothing but good experiences with both of them.
I also use a couple of others as well. I normally purchase from who has the lowest price on what I want at the time.

Now we have to factor in which state will forward your purchases to the IRS for taxes. Pennsylvania does not charge state tax for cigars so be careful where you order from as some states are really high.

The first box I bought came from Holt's - a box of 24 Oliva Serie G maduro Churchills. They had a great deal on them. Their regular prices I find a bit high.

Re: famous or holts

I keep a list of 17 online stores (in an saved favorites file). Anytime I pusrchase I take 10 minutes to run through the list and grab the cheapest once shipping is included. I really don't care where my sticks come from, I like the savings. You will be surprised to see the variation in price from one retailer to another.

Cigary is right about Famous' website. I keep them about 6th on my list just because it is one of the more difficult to navigate. Holts, CI and TNT are alot more intuitive and make finding specials and sales easier.

Famous has some great house cigars for when you want a smoke but don't want to burn a "good" cigar. Their Nic 3000, Value line Honduran 500 Habano, Mosaico Ecuador, Honduran 5000.

Holt's can be good for Pepin Garcia and they have a cheap Ct. cigar for $.80. Great for cuttimg the grass.

Jr has the Consuegra line of which I really like the 72's, both EMS and Maduro. Their Edicion Limitada Hoyo Epicure is very good. And JR usually has good box prices on their cigars and a $2.50 per item shipping, which is good if you buy one box, not as good if you're buying multiple 5-packs. They sometimes have great sales.

Cbid is fantastic for Patel 90 and 92 seconds and Perdomo ESV 91 seconds, the Legends series is good, among others.

TNT is fabulous for Padron 2000, also they have a Padron anniversary knockoff that is fair to good, but if you buy them the shipping is free so that knocks the price down by about 7 or 8 bucks. Worth it in my opinion.

Mike's has good deals on LGC Miami smokes. And I really like the Genuine Counterfiet Pre-embargo smokes.

Tampa Sweethearts has some good cigars as well as El Sol cigars.

The list goes on and on.

When I am buying more pricey special occasion smokes I go to my B&M so I can pick out a couple. I seldom spend big bucks on a box of super premiums online. It's nice to see the cigars before you buy them when you are spending ten or twenty bucks for one cigar. Just my opinion.
