A big'n. Let's call it the "economical aficionado" question.

Okay, so, I've seen myself spend right around 120 bucks last month(including my 2 purchases so far this month) on some pretty nice sticks. Not complaining, I've still got around 30 sticks sitting in the humi, but.. There's a deal where I could pick up 145 cigars for around 126 bucks or so. Now, I know that this means these cigars will most likely, well, pretty much definitely, be nothing compared to my Montecristo's, or La Fontana's, but.. That's around a year's worth of cigars for a month's price. And, I've still got plenty to rotate within them so that I will always still have a good stick around once a week. And, then I can pick up a nice single and not be killing my bank trying to pick up boxes at a time.

So, opinions?
Advice?

Yay- and Nay-sayers?

If you dont like many of the cigars in that purchase would you want to drop that nut on a purchase like that. I am sure there is no right or wrong answer since it is your $$

If you're okay smoking with what he has to offer, less than $1 stick is not a bad price. I'd make sure they were kept in decent conditions so that they are smokeable.

Personally I'd rather spend the $126 on a box of cigars I know I would enjoy, but that's my preference.

Well, this is also a means of me testing out new brands, I'm pretty closed in with my Monte's, Camacho's, Padron 1926 Anni's, etc. and I wonder if this might be a way to branch out my tastes?

Dunno if I'm gonna commit to it or not, either though. There's a couple singles in there that have name brands, Like RyJ, Professor Silas, and even a Rocky Patel tossed in there.

It's kinda like a gigantic sampler of god knows how many brands?

See if you can get a friend to go in with you and split the cost and cigars

In my experience, if your tastes are with the brands you have mentioned, i doubt you will enjoy all that many sticks that can be purchased for $1 a stick unless they are taking a large loss in selling these to you. I would suggest spending money on sticks I like instead.

Thank you all very much for the input, I've decided not to go in on it. Took smoking one of the bargains over at Cliff's(smoke shop nearby) to get me to decide in the end.

So, then, I lit up a Montecristo Petit Edmundo and.. Well, I put a different purchase in.

Any of you guys tried Montecristo Memories?

Re: A big'n. Let's call it the "economical aficionado" question.

In my opinion, you are better off buying fewer cigars you know you like than many cigars that you may not like. Cigars samplers or buying singles from your local B&M are your friend....

Well, looks like I got the good end of things in the end, I bought some Oliva Serie O, which is still a great deal, and I am amazed.

Thanks for the advice on staying away from the "deal". Salvation has come!
