Complete Cigar Newb has a $25 Visa Gift Card

Okay, I've smoked...4 cigars in my life, but I really liked them. Two were flavored, two were not. My favorite and least favorite were unflavored.

My favorite of the four was a Cuesta-Rey Centenario and the word Tuscany is printed on the tube. I liked the flavor of this one the best- kind of reminded me of coffee.

My least favorite was a Zino Classic No. 6. Its not that I disliked it...it is just that the flavor wasn't the same. I didn't get the satisfaction I got from the first.

The other two were flavored vanilla. One I bought from a handroller in Austin, Tx, and the other was a cigar shop. The one at the hand roller had had the end dipped in sugar...it definitely enhanced the flavor of the flavored cigar and made it better.

I got a $25 visa gift card for christmas. Cigars Internation has some $19.99 deals with $5 shipping I was looking at, but I really have no idea if they are any good.

http://www.cigarsinternational.com/catDisp.asp?cat=145

The shipping on these is $5 so it would be $24.99 total which is perfect price wise, but I'm definitely not set.

Any suggestions?

Re: Complete Cigar Newb has a $25 Visa Gift Card

It's a risky proposition purchasing a bundle of cigars, even at $1/stick. If you don't like them, then it's a waste of money. The only close-out that I would consider the the 3-Siglos. We may not have the same taste though.

I would suggest going to your local cigar shop and get a few singles on the recommendations of the store keeper. I would recommend something along the lines of the Cuesta Rey that you smoked, but I'm not familiar with that particular one.

I suspect that if you liked the coffee tastes, then you will probably enjoy the Padron thousand series line.

The cigar shop I went to closest to me was outrageously expensive compared to online purchases. The cheapest cigar they sold was over $5 each and it was a very bad flavored cigar. However, it is in a rich town in a relatively high-end shopping center.

What part of Texas are you in? You could probably get some recommendations on a good shop in your area here.

I live in Rockwall, it is east of Dallas on 30.

I am also a nearly broke college student, so I have very little cash to spend on cigars.

I like that deal better than the close-out deals in the first post. This will give you a decent variety of smokes to try, some of which I enjoy. You get a humidor to boot as well. Might as well find something about 5 dollars to spend the rest of the gift card on, maybe a cutter or something along those lines, or another single cigar.

I ordered it and a $5 cutter, thank you for the advice.

I have another $25 gift card (though they can't be used in conjunction as most sites won't let you split) that I may try and buy some more cigars with soon, if anyone has a reccomendation on something I should try that is relatively cheap.

Well, man, if you're looking for a good, relatively cheap cigar- Check out the Oliva brands. The V Serie has something of a coffee taste to it, from what I've heard.

Try some Padron 3000's. Great smoke for under $5.
