Now try the PAN 1964's or PAM 1964's (Padron Anniversary Natural/Maduro) depending on your taste, and/or the Padron Serie 1926 Natural or Maduro...they're totally different...more expensive...much better...I really don't care for the other Padron's too much...will smoke them but won't buy them...

Re: Do Padron Lovers See Quality Crash?

I've found that most Padrons are great right out of the box. However, its been my experience that when they need some aging, they need "tons of aging." I've had some that were "sick" for more than a year.
I hope that the box of 3000 I picked up this morning won't be that way.
As far as the crop affecting taste, most good cigar companies, like Padron, work diligently to blend various tobaccos so the cigars taste the same year to year. It is this consistant flavor and taste that keeps customers coming back. The Padrons certainly have enough years worth of tobacco stored to produce consistant blends even if there is a bad year of crops.
I'm not sure if I'm explaining what I mean correctly. I'm kinda dumb today.

Re: Do Padron Lovers See Quality Crash?

I smoke mainly Padrons all of them . My everyday smoke is the delicias maduro for the price and taste it beats out cigars much more costly from other brands. If price was no issue I would smoke the 1926 # 35 nat eveyday thats a great cigar.

I also smoke some other brands only to think darn I could have been smoking a Padron. Plus my grandfather who passed away about 15 yrs ago. Came from Cuba in 1959 and started smoking Padrons in or around 1967. I have a picture of him holding a Padron in 1967 the picture was dated. Not to bore anyone but I later found out that Jose O Padron and my grandfather were friends in Cuba.

For some good nostalgia, head on down to TW in Deerfield in June.
He is going to have a Padron event with Jose and his sons Jorge and Orlando all in attendance. I believe they will be giving away annis and signed Padron ashtrays with every box purchased. I am sure TW will post a thread as it nears. The South Florida regular herfers will be marking that date as a definite. In fact, if I recall correctly, it is the Saturday right before Father's Day. I believe that will be June 17th. Kris puts out a great spread of food and lots of drinks at all these events. First class.

Padron makes the finest domestics i have tried. The '26 and '64 line are easily the best domestics out there. The '26 tops most cubans i have tried also...

I've never had a bad box of Padrons either in their regular line of their 1964's. In my opinion they are one of the most consistent cigars that you can buy. I smoke a 1964 maduro almost every day out of my 5-7 cigars I smoke each day and I've never had a bad one.

Re: Do Padron Lovers See Quality Crash?

I have purchased 3 boxes of the 2000 M's over the past year and they were all great. The second box did differ slightly from the others in that they were kind of loose and the draw was easier then the others. Other then smoking roughly 40% faster, they had the same great taste and burn.

I smoked a RP Vintage 1990 on the weekend and it was a disapointing experience. I came home today and sparked up a 2000M. It was terrific and restored my faith in my chosen addiction.

Re: Do Padron Lovers See Quality Crash?

The last box of Padron 6000s I bought have had a consistently loose draw and seem underfilled. Still have the great taste but are considerably lighter than a comparably sized smoke. Shouldn't be able to smoke a cigar of this size in 30 minutes.

Re: Do Padron Lovers See Quality Crash?

i have'nt been smoking that long, but i have put away more than my share of 64 Ann. Nat. Principe's and the 5000 maddie is my favorite smoke, I have not noticed a change. Dying to get my hands on a few 64 Maddies.....these seem like they would be paridise in a cigar.

An extremely great consistent cigar, regardless of vitola.
Expensive yes but boy are they consistent.

Give an Anni maduro a try and come back and tell us what you think about Padrons. My dad has been a two cigar a day smoker for over 55 years, with fifteen of those years being in Cuba until the mid sixties. Ask him which line is his favorite NC and most resembles the Cuban cigars he remembers and he will tell you without hesitation it is a Padron. The man will trade any cigar for an Anni.
Padron is one of the finest cigar companies in the world period. Their quality controls are impeccable and they have some of the best blending on the market. Some cigars appeal to some, as opposed to other ones.

I think the issue you had with the Padrons may have been based on a preference and not an issue concerning their quality. There are plenty of cigars on the market which I do not have a strong appeal to, but I know them to be great cigars overall (i.e. Camacho Corojo, Ashton Cabinet).

Enjoy,

ATL

Re: Do Padron Lovers See Quality Crash?

Hey this is my first post.

I'm a huge Padron fan. The 2000M is my daily stick. But this past box I bought was not box pressed and firm like I'm used to. They are definitely rounder and looser this time around.

I wouldn't call it a quality crash, but it's a different stick.

Aha!! Not really. I'm doubting my locals view on Padron 3000 from this thread.

Re: Do Padron Lovers See Quality Crash?

I think padrons are a great value ratings have said its a $4 cigar that smokes like a $10 cigar..the only difference i have noticed lately is some of the boxes i am getting of the 3000 the box press is all but gone dont know if this is from shelf life or what.but they still smoke great.

They are definately better with age without question. I have quite a few Padron's floating around in the humidors here. I simply love the 64 Anni Exclusivo maduro. I think as far as value and quality its very hard to beat Padron regular line smokes.
Why except Fuma's ? I plan to order one box of Padron Fumas, I like your comments and opinions here so want to know your opinion for The Fuma's.

If you can help me about this I will decide to order or not

Thank you
