please do not mix your Acids with other cigars..Please! seriously there will be flavor transfer. Yes beads or gel is the best way to go. I like my RH around 66-68, seems to work best for a proper burn.

I forgot to add, you can ask as many stupid questions as you want!

I will break down soon and get some of the beads people rave about, both of my humidifiers use the green foam which it seems easier to replace with some beads rather then go cutting up floral arrangement blocks. I can just see my wife now, whats this mess in the kitchen,,,,, oh really you went to a flower shop and didnt buy me flowers!!!!!!!
I hope you used DISTILLED water. Don't try to save money by using tap water, you'll ruin your cigars!!!!

Just using salt for a number of reasons. The first has been mentioned....the humidity will be to high at 75.5% and you will experience burn issues. The other is that as the water evaporates, it does take some salt molecules with it. The cigars will absorb this and you will end up tasting salty. Plus salt is a corrosive. It will get into the wood of your humidor and eventualy rot it not to mention the metal hinges on your humi.

You will grow mold at 75% RH and warm temps.

If you have ISOM's, you (and thats my opinion) better put them in a humi apart and holt this one on a humidity of 71/72 %. Then they come better to their right. Cigars from the "other" cigar countries come better to their right if you reduce the humidity to 68/70%. But this is to my taste! So search out!!

Technically, you wouldn't get salty moisture. The water evaporates, not the salt. Spilling the salt would, of course, be a different story though.

one thing I will tell you straight up is know your homes humidity. i live in a very arid climate, yesterday teh humidty was 7%. this can take a heavy tole on humidors, i find i have to add extra humipacks to mine during the summer months to keep this good. I average 68% but i had to add extra moisture sources to make that happen. dont just assume that you can fill your humidifier up and your good, it may not be enough, it certainly wasnt for me.

Do pirates sell a lot of corn?

Speaking of Pirates, I just had a glass of Pyrat Rum (Reserva) tonight and it was one of the best sipping-rums I've ever had. Wow. [sidebar]

I agree, it was a little strange in how smooth it was. Floral - yes. Fruity - a little of that too. Definitely worth a try. It almost starts to approach a really smooth (and sweet) cognac.

The only stupid question is the one that you don't ask. Never be affraid to ask questions here. We were all new at this at one time or another, and asked the same questions you're asking now.
