Yeah, that's very odd that they had no idea what Gurka was.

They are great cigars and I personally get most of my cigars from cigarbid. It's the devil as I end just buying more cigars than I can handle. I guess it's not a bad problem..

Lol, Gabe,,,where might this school be so I can attend and score some cigars from the alumni?

Lol,,,WTF, Gabe, just tell her you are signing up for more college courses which will give you 3-6 hours away per week at least. C'mon, I'm depending on you to get this thing off the ground. If this little twist cripples ya what are we gonna do when things get serious?

actually... this is how i found out my local b&m didnt carry cigars...

i knew the people well from when i was in high school because they also sold pool cues and most importantly, the only local place to carry masters chalk, so i was always in picking some up.

i come back froma couple years of college... mention to rob that i had gotten into cigars and wanted to look through the humi... i'm walking about and ask 'where do you guys keep the gurkhas?'

you know what his reply was?

Now you're "redeeming" yourself,,,when the going gets tough,,etc etc.

When making offers to the wife always make sure you send her surprises she likes anonymously and let her keep guessing who sent them. You use this later when you are accused of similiar circumstances,,,vis a vis college panty cigar raids,,etc etc. Keep your peeps on the DL and always have something on them just in case shyte happens,,,Plan B and C maybe.

Sorry to have hijacked this thread but Gabe and I don't like PM ing,,,

It seems to me that a lot of B&Ms have started to shy away from a lot of the brands that are featured in CBid. My B&M doesn't feature Gurkha for the same reasons. They believe that they've gone the wayside as far as quality blends and construction. I will say that Gurkha's were the first cigars I smoked and I quickly bought into the hype. What killed me with Gurkha was their marketing. Two years ago the Black Dragon was a $1500 cigar. Last year I bought one for $9.50. Granted the blend was not the same, but why keep the name the same if you're gonna change the blend? What does that say about hype? I personally believe that Gurkha has slowly began to invest more in it's packaging than it's sticks. Fancy boxes are nice and all but what do you have when the cigars are worth their weight? Just another fancy box to keep knick knacks in....
