Any problems with glue from Hemingway short story labels?

So I picked up a couple short storys to see if they were box worthy before the schip goes into effect. I noticed that both have an excess of glue running from the band onto the cigar, giving it a shiny coat. When I tried to take the band off one, the glue stuck like mad but didn't damage the cigar. In addition one of the cigars has gold glitter near the foot. Anybody else have sloppy label-work on their short stories? I am about to light this baby up and try it out, will post a review in about an hour.

Cheers,
David

PS I just lit this up and so far it is fantastic!

I noticed that on a box of Hemingway Classics bought back in 2007. Glue was all over the place on many of the cigars. It didn't change the taste though. Enjoy!

Glad to hear it. I just posted my review in the reviews section and let me tell you this was a great cigar. I'll probably pick up a box later today.

Cheers,
David

This is a very common occurance on Fuentes. Sometimes it damages the wrapper, sometimes it doesn't. That's why I leave the band on as long as possible. The heat will soften up the glue, making it easier to remove.

It is likely wrapper glue. Fuente uses a sweetened wrapper glue that is frequently smeared from one end to the other, more obvious on darker wrappers. Just one of the reasons I don't smoke more of them, just can't stand the sweetness.

Fuente does not use a "sweetened wrapper glue". Just an FYI.

I hve only had the BTLs from this past season, never had an issue with them. I have no experience with them other than that.
