obsidian???

I went to pull out a cigar from my humidor today I picked a padilla obsidian and it felt really hard so I check a few others all felt normal but the padilla obsidians total of 5 padilla's. I recently switched to heartfelt beads and calibrated my hydro and it reads 65. Does anyone have any idea why just the obsidians would be that hard I tried to smoke one and it was a really tuff draw. Thank you in advance or the help.

Re: obsidian???

I don't know what to tell you about that. I keep all my humis at 65rh and don't seem to have a problem with that.

How long have those obsidians been in your humidor?

Re: obsidian???

I have quite a few of these and have normally not had any issues, I actually really enjoy them, however I gave one to a friend who was over the other night and could get no draw whatsoever out of it. It was very wierd. I keep it in my cooler which at the time was at 69 degrees and 68% humidity. Hopefully I don't run in to any others like it. You could try to let it dry out a little and see if it will draw any better.

Re: obsidian???

Thank you for your help I will try to dry box them for a day or two before smoking the next one. I have had them in my humi for about 6 months.

Re: obsidian???

These babies have a thick, oily wrapper, mine need a day of prep if I want a "good" smoke from them.
