Re: Quick questions

1. You could have cut too much off. Best way is to put the cutter on a flat surface, but the head of the cigar in, and snip. It will cut just enough off.

2. You will begin to salivate when smoking a cigar. Typically, you will salivate more about 1/3 or more into it, when it begins to get stronger.

3. It just depends.

Good suggestions David, and setting the cutter on the table and snipping is a great idea. What I said on my other post you made about how to smoke a cigar..concerning cutting one.... go with David's suggestion,it's easier for a new person to tell where to cut after they have done it David's method a few times and it will help prevent unraveling as he said.

#3. If its getting bitter or worse after smoking it a bit you made need to purge (Instead of drawing air through the cigar into your mouth you blow through the cigar)

Enjoy!

Re: Quick questions

One thing I have found to fix #1 if you have cut off to much (it still happens to all of us from time to time -- caps sometimes are two short, or poorly applied, or sometimes we aren't paying attention)..

Get a couple puffs on the cigar, once you have some heat going through it, lick the unravelling part .. I mean get it good and wet until it sticks back to the cigar.. give it about a minute.. the heat should dry it and more often than not, that will fix the problem.

Re: Quick questions

I like to use a V cutter or punch that way you don't get carried away and cut to much. Yes I get a lot of saliva especially on a large ring gauge cigar.

Re: Quick questions

I tend to get a lot of saliva too. Sometimes I get it just thinking of it. Don't like to swallow it so I usually spit. But its not always good or convenient to spit if your with other people or some place public like a club or a bar. Just gotta man up and wash it down with a brew.

Re: Quick questions

I always have a beverage of some sort with me when I smoke. I do spit all the time when alone but try not to gross out the guests. If I have to get rid of all that saliva I usually will urp into one of wife's friends pocketbooks. We rarely entertain.

1. Now do you mean unraveling from the part where you smoke or from the foot(where you light)?

2. Happens to me all the time

3. Just depends on the cigars....what leaves are used in what part of the cigars.
