I never smoked one, but I did smell one, once.
I don't have to take a bite out of a urinal cake
to know I wouldn't like it.

I think they would make a great "punk" lighter for July 4th fireworks.

Re: Acid cigars, your thoughts please

I had a Kuba Kuba a couple of months ago. It was much sweeter than I expected it to be. It was okay but I prefer "regular" cigars. Having said that, I wouldn't be against having another one. They are pretty expensive.

Re: Acid cigars, your thoughts please

I have to give credit to the Acid cigar. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be smoking cigars now. When I first started smoking, I didn't have too many options where I live....I still don't! But I grabbed a couple Acid's and the rest was history. But, I can't bring myself to smoke an Acid again, I've tried....I just can't do it anymore.

I do also have to give credit to Rocky Patel Vintage '90 and CAO Brazilia to get me hooked to the good stuff.

Re: Acid cigars, your thoughts please

I like them, but I wouldn't smoke them every day. I'll pick up a Kuba Kuba every now and then, and I like the Natural line from Drew Estates. It just depends on the mood I'm in. I normally smoke full bodied cigars, so they offer a nice change of pace.

Re: Acid cigars, your thoughts please

I LOVED the C-Notes. Powerful little smoke full of flavor that got me off of cigarettes.

Now, the C-Notes are just too damn expensive to justify keeping them around. Crimony, it's a sin to charge $4/5 a 5er for those.

Thumbs up Re: Acid cigars, your thoughts please

Smoked Kuba Kuba; really enjoyed them. Reminded me of the bar fragrances of a certain southeast Asian capital city. Nice for dramatic change. Also had the Java by Drew estate. Still not sure whether I enjoyed it or not. Will try another though. Go for it.

Re: Acid cigars, your thoughts please

I just had an Opulence 3. It is similar to the Kuba Kuba but not as "infused" I think. Its more of the cross between a "infused" and a "typical" stick. I enjoyed it, wasn't too sweet for me but nice n strong.

Re: Acid cigars, your thoughts please

Sounds like the Opulence 3 might be one for me to try, I tried the Kuba Kuba and liked it. I am a new smoker so the flavors agreed with my uneducated palate. The only thing I didn't like was the super-sweetened cap - reminds me way too much of a Swisher Sweet (bleah). If I could have the flavor of the smoke without the sweetness of the cap, that'd be the one.

I think these infused igars definitely have a niche, for beginners or any time you're in a less serious mood.

Re: Acid cigars, your thoughts please

Wow, people are actually being civil in this thread - very nice!

When I first got into cigars I smoked Acids. My first event was a DE event an I met Jonathan and our local rep, Rick Ardito. Both of them are very cool guys and I was able to ask a ton of questions about their smokes, this got me hooked even deeper.

With this new found passion I started searching for cigar forums and the first one I came to I searched for posts on Acids. Most everyone involved somebody getting verbally disemboweled for saying they liked Acids.

I don't care for the Acids as much now but I do still enjoy a Java or Tabak Especial with a good cup of coffee. DE also makes some great non-infused sticks like the Liga Privada #9, Chateau Real and Joya de Nicaragua.

Oops, sorry, I rambled... pick one up and try it! Let us know what you think.

Re: Acid cigars, your thoughts please

The Tabak Especial are very nice with a big cup of Chicory coffee and some beignets. I like the Chateau Real myself similar to RyJ's. I had got a box of Acid Blondies at a local B&M and they had a superb deal: for any three D.E. lines, you got a free stick. With a box you got one free for every three, PLUS a hat, PLUS a Chateau Real ashtray, PLUS a golf towel, PLUS a closed end cutter! After all was said and done I got just as much free stuff as I paid for the box. Thats how I got the Chateau Real(s) and I was kinda empressed by them.
Alot of hardcore CA's hate the Acid line because its unique and different from the "norm", i figure. They are tired of seeing cheap ole BlacknMilds, Swishers and etc and the Acid line is very similar too those (flavored cigar) EXCEPT better using real leaves as wrappers and longleaf fillers and being handmade. I smoke ACIDs YUP, there I said it. They aren't so bad for a change from the "norm".

They can dislike me for enjoying and ACID every now and then, but then again, its not thier mouth its going into; so just grin and bear it.

Re: Acid cigars, your thoughts please

I have tried a few of them. The Kuba-Kuba is ok, but I personally don't think they are worth the money. I haven't smoked one in a while and I really don't miss them.
