Acid cigars, your thoughts please.
I have never tried an Acid cigar, well mainly because of it being " infused ".
Do you like them or hate them?
I just want to get some opinions, before I make a decision on trying one.
Thanks
Bill

Re: Acid cigars, your thoughts please

Now that I am not into the ACID's nearly as much as I was I feel I can give a good opinion on the ACID's.

When I first started somking about 2 years ago I started with the DE Naturals. I got tired of those because now they all taste the same. I then moved on to the ACID's which I admit I loved them. I still smoked ACID's but I perfer a non-infused cigar now. I believe the flavored/infused cigars are great for getting new people sucked into this hobby but for some one who has been smoking for a while I don't think they will like them.

With that being said I believe they are a great newbie stick. But the only way to know for sure is to try one. I suggest the Kuba Kuba or the Atom. Keep in mine these have sweet caps and are heavily infused with herbs and bitonical oils.

Re: Acid cigars, your thoughts please

This is a cigar line you should try and then decide for yourself. Most people love to hate on Acids, but your opinion should be the only one that matters.

I can tell you that Acids were the most requested cigars from soldiers I supplied and Drew Estate stepped up and donated a bunch of cigars for them. The Cold Infusion Tea, Kuba Kuba and Blondies are the one the troops seemed to like the best.

i smoked an acid wafe...its almost flat 1/3 of in thick....picked it up just b/c it looked different. Infused with honey and cream flavors...it smokes like a candy cigar IMO, you only get a hint of tobacco and lots of sweetness....i did not like it but 2 each his own?

My opinion:

Tastes like incense and potpouri wraped in sugar soaked brown paper bag.

But thats my opinion.

You should:

Buy one. Smoke it. Decide for yourself if you liked it.

A lot of people hate these things, but obviously a lot of people must like them as well. They sell like crazy and are sold just about everywhere cigars can be found. That says something.

Kudos to Drew Estate for helping to support our troops!!

Re: Acid cigars, your thoughts please

I smoked one and didn't like it at all. i smoked a Java, also by Drew Estates, and it wasn't horrible. A nice change of pace once in a great while. I just prefer my cigars to taste like tobacco. Great beginner stick though.

Re: Acid cigars, your thoughts please

Like I've said in other thread, I don't mind a good infused cigar, as long as the flavors are natural.

ACID is a bit overboard though. Can't overpower the tobacco like ACID does. Must be subtle.

But overall, I am a Drew Estate fan.

Re: Acid cigars, your thoughts please

My Advice: You must try one once.

I have smoked about 4...I do not tend to enjoy them, however they are very different from any cigar you have smoked.

Re: Acid cigars, your thoughts please

I tried a Kuba-Kuba and didn't like the sugary after taste. I liked the aroma and the tobacco was good quality. I liked the Java better. The chocolat and coffee flavors were subtle and pleasant. I have since bought one or two of them as a change of pace.

Re: Acid cigars, your thoughts please

Here's a related question: I've always heard to not put Acids in your humidor, because all your other cigars will absorb the infused flavor. Does this rule apply to any other cigars?

Re: Acid cigars, your thoughts please

Never put flavored or infused cigars in the same humidor as regular cigars!

AS for Acids, give them a shot, they are a different type of smoke, they may or may not be your cup of tea! I have tried almost all and I enjoyed them when I smoked them. Then I got into regular cigars and have never looked back. THe coffee infused cigars were great!

Re: Acid cigars, your thoughts please

I haven't ever smoked an acid, although I have one in quarentine that a bud gave me.

However in the early 90's I smoked some infused gars that were the brand "Lars Tetons" or something like that. I don't remember just what they were called. They were fun, but they can effect our pallet for a while afterwards. As others have alluded to, they are typically best suited for newer smokers. Since you have a mature pallet, I don't think you will like them.

All for now, Da Fiddla

Re: Acid cigars, your thoughts please

Ive tried the Kuba Kuba, Kaluha, Dirt (i think it was this one), Java, Isla del sol and blondie and I did enjoy them at the time....but after smoking some good plain cigars I really lost the taste for them. I just traded my Isla del Sols to MusicMan cause I just couldnt get through one anymore. My pallete must be getting better. Unless they come out with one that taste like beer, t-bone and nitro methane (i was gonna put somethin sexual in there) I wont be buying anymore.
