Re: Humi with cello wrapper or without?

Regarding the age old cello on or off - I leave them the way Cuba shipped them.

If the manufacture ships then with cello leave it if they don't leave it. Cello has been said to be air permiable so it will not effect aging and beetles can eat through it so its no safe guard. The only thing cello does fo me is keeps the cigars a tiny bit safer when moving them around and makes me sound like I am wearing a diaper when I am walking around handling a bunch of them.

Do whatever you want, there is no right or wrong way. I leave mine the way I get them.

I agree with K Baz and TX Tuff and would like to add

If you fumble around in your humi a lot leave them on, safer for the cigars

Re: Humi with cello wrapper or without?

Ok heres my qwerk......I leave it on while in the coolerdor. Then as they transition from there into my 300 or 100 count humis I remove it. Why? I dunno! Looks better when I open the lid? smells better? I do know that the first time I did this the RH went haywire for a few days. My 300 count was crammed and I pulled all the cello off at one time! My Le Veil got a serious work out.

I leave the cello on but remove about a 1/2 inch of the cellophane off @ the foot. Don't know if this helps the cigars any but it gives me something to do-I'm so anal.

Yank em n spank em!

Prudence suggests that we save a few in case we need to ship or transport...

It speeds up aging if we yank em imho

Re: Humi with cello wrapper or without?

I store them the way they arrived. If there is no cello, then they go naked, if they have cello, then they stay clothed. I still havent figured out what to do with cigars in tubes though...

Re: Humi with cello wrapper or without?

True cello is only semi permeable. Put a drop of water on it and see, it won't go through. Short term smoking take it off. Long term ageing, doesn't make much difference.
