601 red ?

i got a box of the churchhills about 2 months ago of cbid. Taste is great very complex. But the constructiion is lacking/ the wraper is very thin and ters very easy, it even pulls away where i hold the cigar and on my lips? it also burns poorly and mushrooms the first inch somtimes causing a split?
All the other sticks in my cooler are smoking like gems so is it just a bad box or does it need more or less humidity. I have been smoking for years but im a noob at stoarge?

Re: 601 red ?

Could very well just be the cigar. I have some Warlords that seem to be very temperamental.

I was thinking that I heard something like this though on one of the Doc's Stogiefresh5 podcast or another than mentioned the tobacco may be young and need to rest for a little while longer?

Could just be the cigar, have not had good luck with the reds. I much prefer the Habano Oscuro La Punta in this line.

Your best shot is to keep the humidity between 60-65.

im in Iraq and humidity control may be an issue for me?...no distilled water i have a cooler24 qt with 2 72% bovedia packs in it....they are the easiest thing i know 2 use out here and my other sticks smoke great. Ill try and go down in humidity when i replace my packs this month?

Re: 601 red ?

dude someone switched them with tatuajes! lol

Someone on that base has distilled water. Luckily for me my radar that I worked on requires use to make a coolant mix of distilled water / glycol so we always had really really expensive distilled water.

There has to be some piece of equipment there that has to use it.

Re: 601 red ?

Thin wrappered cigars require lower humidity, and it sounds like this is one. Smoked a couple reds when they came out, and they didn't suit me so don't recall from personal experience, I do smoke the Blue and Green, which are thick wrappered, like most Nicaraguans.
