How tell Feunte's apart?

I've heard lots of good things about AF sungrown's, and the pricey Don Carlos and Hemingway blends. Problem is, I can't tell them apart. I know they have black bands, and the Hemingway's are all shaped vitola's right? I can't tell a bit of difference between the Carlos and Sungrown though, at least on cbid. Am I missing the obvious?

Re: How tell Feunte's apart?

I've often wondered this myself, I save my bands for projects that I plan on making but once you've smoked them the labels all look the same or are very similar. So I can't say oh this one is from a Hemingway or a Chateau series etc. Or when they are in the humidor.

Re: How tell Feunte's apart?

Hemingways are all perfectos, sungrowns all have the black band. The Don Carlos all have a natural Cameroon wrapper. Best way to guage Fuente cigars is if it costs under $8/stick, it probably isn't worth smoking. They make a ton of very mediocre stuff, but the good ones are Don Carlos, Hemingway, Anejo, and the various Opus.

The label with the white on the bottom is the Anejo line.

Re: How tell Feunte's apart?

As a general rule, black bands are their highends, eg, DC, Hemi's and green is the prolitarian stuff. And yeah, the Hemi's are all figuardos.

Anejo (ultra primi) gets white.

Dang Masterpiece 9 X 52! I've never seen one of these, I curious to try one. I'm not the world's biggest Fuente fan but this is interesting.
