If the wrapper feels brittle, I'll wet before I cut.

I cut 'em dry. I've wanted to try the wet method, but since I've used the dry method so long I never think about it.

Always dry 100% never tried it wet. Never needed to. Make sure you have a very sharp cutter.

Re: How do you cut you cigar dry or wet?

Since I store @ 65% and often drybox to further insure a good burn, I will typically moisten slightly to ensure a clean cut without wrapper trauma.
I will even let it absorb for 10 seconds and wipe of excess if there is any.
(Usually and preferably there isn’t any excess.)

Sometimes one can feel that the wrapper is fine to be cut dry and sometimes we know we gotta moisten it a smidge...

That being said I must also note that I bring my own cutter when out and about cause I don't want to impose my Koodies on another botls cutter and on to the next gar.

A point of etiquette that could be discussed more, what?.

Re: How do you cut you cigar dry or wet?

Have done wet and dry and as long as you have a good cutter,,,I don't think it really matters. I usually like to taste the cigar anyway so most of the time I cut wet. I use a V Cut most of the time at home so it doesn't matter as that cutter cuts like a surgeon.

Wet. Besides insuring the integrity of the cap, I get a chance to taste the wrapper, sans smoke.
