Do I have beetles?
I was just looking at a few cigars my buddy gave me that I have been keeping in a wood box inside a cooler with wet florist foam inside (just got my humidor today) and I noticed mold on them (just a little) and one had a little hole and a "crack" in the leaf near the band. He told me this cigar might be a little dried out so that could be it. Just worried since I don't want to have to throw it out. Here are the pics. (I am new to smoking, obviously, so if anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it.)

Although not the best pic, it doesn't look like a beetle hole to me. I would however take care of that mold issue soon.

 Not a beetle hole but the mold could become a real issue. You can wipe off the mold with a soft cloth and smoke the cigar before it gets too bad. If it is in the foot of the cigar just clip a little off until you no longer see it and then smoke it.

Nope, beetle holes are very neat round to oval holes.

Looks like just a split wrapper IMHO.
What is your current RH and what humidifier are you using? When is the last time you replaced the batteries in the hygrometer and calibrated it? I hope this helps ~Mark |
