A not so great graycliff?

OK I Smoked a Graycliff Profesionale PG (Robusto) and I have to say I was somewhat disappointed. I'm told this is to be a wonderful smoke. However the construction was very loose. The burn was very uneven. I had to fix several runs wile smoking it... and it didn't last as long as other Robustos that I have tried. the taste was enjoyable. and was deffinatly worth finishing.

I'm just curious if any one else has had this problem. Is it just one bad cigar out of a bunch. I do have another one and it seems to be just as loose.

What do you think, has anyone else had a bad experiance with Graycliff smoke?

I think the high msrp leads people to believe these are top shelf smokes. In my opinion they are yard gars at best. At least that is the case of the two I have tried, the 1666 and crystal series.

Re: A not so great graycliff?

The price is mostly due to taxes, but mine have all been good so far. That being said even with the cost it is still just a cigar and subject to plugging, and anything else that could go wrong with any cigar. I would say that if you just didn't like the taste then that cigar just isn't for your taste, but I have also found that after a bad first smoke when I try them again I end up liking that cigar.

Re: A not so great graycliff?

I did like the taste of this smoke. It was nice mild smoke.

I got two of these as part of a 90+ rated supreme combo. I'm just confused. How could such shotty construction get a 90+ rating?
Is the construction of these sticks inconsistent? Did they come out of a bum batch?
Has anyone else tried these and had better experience with the construction?

I think because these have become so popular and since they only have about 12 rollers to crank out several blends that things might be starting to get rushed which sucks. The newer DE that I have smoked I have noticed running and uneven burning and unusual flavors that are not like the older DE that I have smoked.

I can't stand a under filled cigar!!! They draw way to easy and burn hot!! At least you only got 2 of them.

Re: A not so great graycliff?

I have three more of the crystal series left I will give them more time and try again. Possible these are just not the flavor I like, others will differ. The two I smoked were well made though.

The Professionals are ok. I only purchase when they are on sale. They are not as full bodied or strong as advertised.

Re: A not so great graycliff?

Well This morning I stepped outside with the second one I had. I kept an open mid through out the journey. I must say I'm glad that I didn't let any preconceived conceptions about this cigar get to me. It felt much better the second time around, Seemed to burn rather nicely. The first one must have been under filled like you said..
