Recommend me some sticks to age please.

Tomorrow my B&M gets a shipment and I'm going to buy some to put away for a minimum of two years.

I'm going to buy a box each of Cohiba IV, Cohiba Robusto, Cohiba VI and Monte No. 2. Is there anything else I can get that would respond well to aging? I'm in Canada, so I tend to favor cubans.

My plan, btw, is to buy two boxes each time I purchase. One to smoke, one to age for two years. That way, in two years, I'll always be smoking 4 year old sticks. (Assuming they're already two years old when I buy 'em)

Comments/suggestions?

Most cc's will age well if stored properly. IMO, the Cohiba's are good but way over rated for the money. The Monte 4's are a staple in my humi and age very well. How about some Party shorts or 898's. Both are great smokes.

Where are you storing all these smokes? Cooler?

I've tried the 898's in the past and don't recall liking them, however, I'll give a few a try.

With the air on, the basement cold storage room is 70F/65%, however, I have a vinotemp 28 and some 65% beads on order.

+1 on the 898's They aren't too high priced and I tend to like them; just not the "nub wannabe" I prefer the longers.
RyJ Habana Reserve is nice and the vintage no 1 or 2 are my faves i'd like to age.

I'd have to sell bodily fluids in order to buy 2boxes at a time! Great thinking on the multiples of two though.

One other note Jamie. Most CC's need at least 2 years aging at minimum. There greatness peaks at the 4 - 5 year mark.

Leads me to another question. Most of the boxes I'm buying now say 2007 on the bottom. I assume that means they're already 2 years old?

Here's what I mean. This is a box of Siglo VI. I assume it is now 2 years old?

From what I can see from the picture that box is an 07. Could be as much as 1 1/2 years old if boxed in Jan 07 or 2 1/2 years old if boxed in Dec 07 or anything in between depending on month.

Box on the right is a mix of Robustos, Upmann No. 2, Monte Edmundo, Siglo IV and some other stuff for the humidor.

Edit: unfortunately, the Cohiba's and Monte's to put down were all dated 2008.
