Storage Question: What goes together?

Hi B/SOTLs!

Do I need to care about what cigars are laying on top of each other? Ex: I have some AF Don Carlos' (mild) laying on top of some JdN Antano 1970 (stout). Question is, if I have say, mild natural cigars laying on, under, next to, strong maduro, or oscuro cigars, is it bad?

Im old to cigars, but rather new to stockpiling and aging.

You should have no problems stacking different brands of cigars, the only exception would be "flavored" cigars, these would need to be stored in a seperate humidor.

i tend to separate my cigars by strength but i think that its more of a mental thing as opposed to a functional one... how long do u plan on storing/ aging the smokes? is storing them in the box feasible (space-wise)?

Longest I've had different brands / types stacked would be about a year and did not notice any effects pro or con. I personally do believe marrying of oils from different sticks can occur but I would think only over the course of many years. In the short term should not make a difference. Just keep any flavored / infused (acid) cigars in a separate container as Dgar suggests.

I'm lovin these responses, but I don't have any "flavored", or infused cigars! They are simply anethema to my cigareligion!

As long as it's not flavored cigars in the same humi, you should be OK.

I generally stay away from the flavored, infused cigars myself but do enjoy a Havana Honeys rum now and again
