Do All Cigar Companies Sell "Seconds"?

I did a search but didn't find this question before. I was just wondering, do all cigar brands sell their "Seconds" or do some refrain from selling the factory rejects?

I am just curious because I do not believe I have seen Camacho seconds and wasn't sure if there are any available at any place.

some do, some don't, some will take the extra chopped pieces and make "sandwich" cigars, and some will make "2nds" and call them by a different name entirely. As far as I know Camacho dosn't (at least I have not seen them anywhere, dosn't mean they don't have something out there). CI has a large selection of 2nd's if you are looking for deals.

Some do and some dont. Seems to be that many brands at CI have 2nds. Could be a great money maker for the manufacturers. I am sure CI sells quite a bit of 2nds

Some don't allow seconds and the fillers and binders are recycled. Some give them away. It really depends on the relationship between the brand/owner/rolling house. If you have complete control, like the Fuentes, you can do whatever you want. In the case of RP, he has to pay for all that baccy and the rollers time, etc. Seconds are a great way to offset overhead.

In the same vein, Im anxiously awaiting the Opus X seconds bundles.

Not all companies selll seconds,many dont actualy... BUT the good news is RP sells enough seconds to more than make up for it... how many "seconds" is this guy producing... how about a little precontrol;, quality assurance... process improvment.. sorry, all these " seconds" make me wonder if its nothing more than marketing. That said many folks love Rocky's seconds, I imagine for an inexpensive smoke thier pretty good, he's been at it for some time now.

I know for RP one of CI's description said he made some fakes of his own stuff (so some of his appear to be a marketing technique).

One reason I was asking about Camacho was because the free SLR I got didn't come from a box but rather a bundle in cellophane (so I figured maybe Camacho gave out seconds for free at tastings and other events instead of selling them).

I am looking forward to the Opus X seconds as well!! HAHA! I wish!

I have heard that often times you can find seconds at the factory stores, usually under other names. For instance, when I went to Tampa Sweethearts, the Arturo Fuente factory, they told me that the bundles of Tampa Sweethearts cigars, which are differentiated by various numbers are the seconds of various brands. It might be worth an e-mail to Camacho just to see if its something similar. The worst that will happen is a "no" response, or you might just get some great info.

They all have a way to recover costs from mistakes. Some label seconds, and in fact intentionally manufactur seconds. Some sell the tobacco to short filler makers.
