Shipping Questions

Hey guys,

Was wanting to hear from some other people how they ship things to other members of the forum. Like do you use USPS or UPS or something else? Where do you buy your boxes and protective stuff like bubble wrap and foam peanuts? How much does it usually cost?

Any and all information on the best way to do this will be a big help! Thanks!

I usually go with USPS 2 day priority in the neighborhood of $3.50 with DC. You can purchase boxes from them, but I always save any I use for a trade or any that I get when I order 5 pks as they are the perfect size.

I usually ship usps priority. A re-use boxes and packing materials from my online purchases. I think priority for cigar weight packages was around 5 or 6$. However, last couple packages I sent I just went with 1st class which was only a couple bucks, and surprising the boxes got there within 2-3 days anyway, the same timeframe they promise if you upgrade to priority.

USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation. You can go to USPS.com and get free boxes, DC slips, etc. They will usually deliver them to you in about a weeks time.

Boxes cost a couple of bucks, shipping maybe 4 to 5 bucks priority. Save your small boxes, priority normally only takes 2 days. I've had great luck USPS for small things.

I can never find boxes on their site. They have the flatrate boxes and it says its like $11.00+ for the smallest size to ship.

Yeah already checked there, the prices are like $11.00+ to ship anywhere in the country it says. Do you have to use the box as not flatrate or something?

There should be a second page. Go forward to it and you will find the priority boxes. They are not flat rate but they are priority mail.

Once you get the free boxes. You pack them, take them to the post office, they charge you based on weight. Usually a 5 X 8 box costs me around $5 to $6 bucks to ship anywhere in the US.

Remember that when you use "their" boxes you are going to pay $2 more at least. I use the plain brown boxes that I get from others who send me their bombs or I use the boxes I get from the auctions on CBID and other cigar businesses. The rate for those is only $2.85 plus the DC confirmation. I use USPS all the time and reuse the boxes that I get,,,when you ship as much as I do it all adds up. If you only ship sparingly then use USPS boxes.

Thats odd.. They charge less for a plain brown box? hmm.. Thinking maybe an office supply company like Staples or Office Depot might be best for boxes. They always come in the stupidest sizes though.

Its not you its them... They list flat rate boxes under every category... Theres like 2 boxes under Priority that aren't flat rate. Frustrating. Poor site organization.
