2nd the Indian Tabac Maduro line. I am not sure about the Super Fuertes, but the Boxer, Tomahawk, Chief, these are probably my favorite smokes. I smoke the more mainstream Rocky's, the Partagas, CAO, and so on, but I always come back to these. You can usually quick buy them for 5/$11 or something on CBid.

I too sir partake & prefer the darker leaf!!! Here are a couple of suggestions from myself...

In no particular order...
H. Upmann Reserve Maduro
Sancho Panza Maduro
Punch Magnum Maduro Maduro
JFR Maduro (Had one of these the other day, & will go back to this one again!!!)
Oliva G Maduro
Fuente 8-5-8 Maduro

Those should all be around or under the $6 range... I'm sure there's a bunch I forgot

Enjoy!!!

These should hit your flavor profile and they fall into the "reasonably priced" category.

Sancho Panza Double Maduro
HdM Dark Sumatra
Punch Maduro or Oscuro

Everyone forgot to mention the Macanudo Maduro. I admit it's the only Maduro I have smoked to date, but it was a fantastic stick IMHO.

I am a newbie for the most part and love the CAO Barzilia cigars!
May have more to do with the type of palet a person has. I also like dark whiskeys, strong red wine, and dark beers. Seem to go together.

Try a Cuesta-Rey Centenario Maduro, really smooth and creamy.

The darker the leaf the better I like it. The OWR can be had on C BID as has been mentioned and usually at a price point that you mentioned. I usually win auctions that have my favorite RP cigars,,,Edge Maddies, or the seconds. I like the Sungrowns as well and when you factor the price for the taste,,,it's a win win.
