Re: Padron X000 Series. What the Hell?
Even though you had a different experience when you changed vitolas, it may not have been the vitola that made the difference. This happens to me all the time. I can smoke the same brand and vitola of a cigar at different times and have dramatically different experiences.
Often, I will try a new cigar, and think "WOW! I've got to get some more of these", only to be let down by unsatisfactory experiences with each subsequent smoke. Then, a few months later I'll try again, and miraculously it will once again be a fine smoke!
It works the other way too. I've tried some very popular, highly touted cigars and thought "I don't get it - that just wasn't that good". I'll usually try a couple over a few days just to be sure. Then, months later I'll try again and - you guessed it - it's one of the best I've ever smoked! Next time - it tastes flat again. And so on.
Sure, each brand, blend, and vitola has it's own unique flavor profile and characteristics that are present in each and every stick, but sometimes, for whatever reason, the taste buds are off, you've eaten the wrong food, the moon is in the wrong phase, or for whatever reason they don't taste right and the experience is just not there.
Enjoying and evaluating cigars is such a personal, subjective business.
Just my 2-cents worth!
