Local hand rolled cigars

After doing a bit of research and driving around, I have discovered there are at least five local cigar shops around that roll their own, and only sell their own.
Is this something special, or do most neighborhoods or big cities have some hand rolling establishments around?
Anyone buy from them. ?
I have went to three of the establishments, and did not feel welcome in any of the three. I was pleasant and asked if I could go into their humidor to pick out some smokes and I always got a nod. Never anything vocal. Almost as if I was scaring them.
Anyway, I purchases two or three cigars from each. Not a thank you, or even a bag.
The smokes were pretty horrible too. They smell real good, but smoke like white owls, or even worse.
One of the walk in humidor was so hot. They had a big thermometer in their, and it was on 88 degrees.
Going to try out the other two, and see if I have a better experince.
Much regards Jerry

Where are you located? We roll our own right in the store and go through the process of explaining everything to all who inquire. Everything we sell we put into bags so that the cigars stay correct for a while. Our smokes receive a warm welcome and are liked and sought after by most. I have shipped to every state here and over a dozen countries around the globe. Please do not judge all by a few "bad apples".

Re: Local hand rolled cigars

I am in Canada and have purchased from two places in Toronto that roll cigars. One place is friendly and chatty but the other is the same experience as yours, a nod and pointing and no words. The rollers are all women who look Cuban and I put the silence down to the fact that they speak little or no English. I do not speak Spanish!
However, the products in both cases are excellent.

Bottom line is if they where that bad then don't go back! Hopefully the other two are better. I have been to one shop here that is somewhat local and they roll and sell only their cigars. Family owed place, great people and I had a great time there. Cigars where good.

Re: Local hand rolled cigars

I was in Puerto Rico and found a guy there in a small store the size of a closet rolling. It had a picture on the door of him with Chuck Norris so I had to buy some. Anyway, great smoke! now, I just wish I could get back there and get some more
