Getting close till my son is born, handout reccomendations?
Well my little boy is due on the 21st and I want to do the traditional cigar handout to the men. To get my wife to agree it'll have to be around $50 or less for 25.
So here is what I'm asking. 25 cigars for $50 or less. No "It's a boy" cigars. Commonly found in Cigar stores No internet only deals because we don't know when he'll be here. Thanks for your help in advance.

My only opinion would be to give Rob at Taboo a call and see what he can do (I dont work for him but hes really taken care of the BOTLs) Or call you local shop and see what they have.. Shawn

First off....Congrads!!!
Now, Even though you said no online or internet deals. I'd still try to look at getting a box of the 5 Vegas Classic or Gold. They are cheap enough, and very well made cigars. Even if the people who never have smoked a cigar in their life could probably handle those two. As for trying to get something local and paying around $50 or less. I don't know how much of an option you'd get though? How bout some good old Flor de Oliva? They are quite possibly the best bundled cigar I've had. |

Re: Getting close till my son is born, handout reccomendations?
The Arturo Fuente Brevas, Curly Head, and Curly Head deluxe (mixed filler, mild but flavorful, and still a Fuente) come to mind. I know you don't want "It's a Boy" cigars, but the Brevas are available with "It's a Boy" printed on the cello wrapper. Otherwise they're the same cigar as the standard Brevas. Famous sells them for $53 per box of 25 - sorry I can't link yet because I'm too new. My local BM sells the Curly Heads for $3 each, and I think the Brevas are the same price. After the 15% box discount the Brevas should be about $64 for a box of 25. That isn't much more than online prices after you add in shippping. I know it's a bit over your targeted $50 budget, but it's a quality hand made that won't overpower folks who aren't regular smokers.

The curly heads and curly head deluxes are what I was thinking also, but they go for around $80/box here in town, ~$50 online though.

I agree with Shawn, call and speak to Rob at Taboo. Tell him your situation and I bet he will take care of you if it is at all possible.

Re: Getting close till my son is born, handout reccomendations?
Well, my wife has changed the budget to $30 but we can only count 10 people max. So that opens up a few I've been looking at.
Got to give Taboo a call, probably go with him. Thanks guys. I'll post some ring gauges as soon as I get on a computer and off my phone.

I've smoked quite a few Flor de Oliva, and I'm sure you could pick up ten for under thirty dollars, you should be able to do that locally if you have a B/M that carries them.
And I'll repeat everyone else by saying a call to Rob at Taboo wouldnt hurt... he's top notch. |

Re: Getting close till my son is born, handout reccomendations?
I am having a son born Oct 15th (on or around) and I was looking for something too but was trying to find one that had "It's a Boy" on it. Is that cool or would that be tacky?
I saw some RyJ "Romeo's" that look pretty nice but it is like $60 something for 10. I was thinking maybe those, the Fuente Brevas (are they mixed filler?) or maybe the Davidoff ones (I am JUST KIDDING!! Those suckers are something like $200-$500!!) lol. Congrats on the baby boy!! Well my local B&M pulled through.
If you're ever in Little Rock AR go down to University ave and check out Pipe and Tobacco Shop.
