Yes Another Wedding Cigar Thread
I could of thread jacked some of the other thread related to weddings and cigars, but after reading my fellow BOTL's posts I realized our situations differ. I've also searched the board for hours on end and I stil lcouldn't come up with anything. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger for a box and need some help. Now here is the background in short:
As a gift for my groomsmen - a cigar holder/flask combo, engraved w/ first name, cheap punch cutter ket chain, two smokes to go with them. Filling the flask will depend on what gars I get. Extras will got to special individuals atteneding and of course me. Now here is the predicament: Most of my guys do smoke, but only on special occasions SO I'm looking for something mild/med, smooth and maybe bit creamy. Something that would would enjoy, but also have a name they may recognize (i.e 5 vegas, Excalibur, RyJ etc). ALSO I'm on a budget (just bought a house as well). So something that I can find from one of our prefered online retailors. My ceiling is about $100 max, But would prefer to stay under $80 (c-bid price), $60 would be spectacular. I'm not worried about impressing them with the name cause most don't know anything anways, but a pretty band would be a nice touch. Might print a label to but on the cello thanking them or something. Let the ideas roll...

You can get a whole cabinet of 50 Arturo Fuente Brevas Royale online for like less than $90.00. I personally like 'em, as mild value smokes go, I've never had a bad one. The band is nothing special, but the smoke is creamy with woody notes, and smooth, not harsh at all. All in all a good smoke for the $$!

Re: Yes Another Wedding Cigar Thread
Sounds like a cool gift to give your groomsmen, nice.
I think the Perdom Golf Edition cigars are a great buy, at Cbid under fifty bux for a box shouldnt be to hard. I've smoked a few five packs and enjoyed them, had a nice med body, smooth wrapper, and burned very well... nice looking band and cigar, it might work.. Im sure you'll get other suggestions. And congrats on the Big Day... |

Re: Yes Another Wedding Cigar Thread
I would recommend RyJ.
I am getting married in October, and i had some of the 'Herf Tubes' personalized, thanking each of my groomsmen for celebrating with us. It's a good, creative, cheap option for the guys to have something to store their cigars in for that day. I know you said you already have a cigar holder for them, but this would be another option. here is the website: Printed Cigar Tubes Run by a fellow botl. he did a great job and gave me a real good price. |

Re: Yes Another Wedding Cigar Thread
Just an update and then I can let this rest. After hours I'm taking 20+ of searching the forum, internet and retailers I finally decided on a purchase to include with the flask/holder and punch cutter.
I went with Helix Cylinders. Reasoning: They come in a cool looking tube (a plus), which will help keep them fresher and safer (another plus). They have decent ratings, are mild and smooth for the infrequent smokers that will be receiving them. All that consider top with the recent purchase off our first home they made a logical choice. CI had the best price but were sold out, so got them at famous for $59, plus tax and shipping (I’m in PA so damn sales tax). Now I have a little left for some booze to fill them. Any thoughts of a decent liqueur that might match well. I was thinking maybe a rum, most the guys aren't big on scotch or bourbons
