Unhappy garlic on my hygro

Hello all,

This might sound like a weird question but... yesterday I had my hygro on my counter while preparing dinner (what a good idea), i was about to put it in a sealed bad for calibration test... but i started to make dinner. I dropped some garlic juice on it (from a chopped garlic jar). I wiped the juice and the thing still smells today.

Would you put it back in the humidor or buy another one?

I am afraid that id give a garlic aroma to my humidor and cigars...

Re: garlic on my hygro

I'd go buy another one... you don't mix flavored/infused cigars in with the regular ones for just that reason, the scents/tastes transfer without even touching the other cigars. I can almost guarantee the same thing will happen with the garlic juice. Better to spend a few $$ to be safe, the ruin a bunch of good cigars! Hope that helps!

Hmmmm Garlic infused cigars....

Im kind of partial to horseradish.

I would get another one. The juice/oil my ferment or spoil and smell worse after a few days sealed up in your humi.

Yeah might as well spend another 20$ than spoiling 250$ of stogies.

Thanks for the comments.

Re: garlic on my hygro

I'd toss it with some Olive Oil and vegetables and serve it over whole wheat pasta for a healthy Pasta Primavera dish. Enjoy!

Re: garlic on my hygro

I agree with the rest of the people here, get a new one, HOWEVER! I love garlic like its nobodies business, and the thought of a garlic tasting cigar is pretty tempting thought. I see it going only one of two ways. Awesome or awful! Either way I wouldn't tempt fate with a collection of cigars.

My advice is to go to Walmart and get the Accurite hygrometers. I have 6 of them and they have all been spot on. I've read reviews where they are off a few percents here and there, but I honestly don't think anything more or less than 5 percent is that much of a worry. They range from about 6-12 bucks where I'm at. Check em out!

Bahaaahaahaahaahaaahahaahaahaahaaaa!! Holy Crap that is funny!!

Ahem... that is... Funny since no cigars were injured in the making of this movie!

Hahaaaahaahaaaaahahaahaaaaahaaa!!!

I am glad you decided to save the garlic infused hygro for the Garlic jar!

By the way, I am permitted to laugh with you at your unfortunate slip because once I was
carrying mine into the bathroom to wipe some dust off of it and I tripped and it flew across the room and landed in the____ GAH!!!

Now everytime I light up a stogie people say;

"That smells like some good Shitake there!"
