Question I love my Oliva Serie G's, need some help...

I've had the Serie G in both wrappers. I enjoyed the cameroon in belicoso and the maduro in the robusto size. To my palatte, they are both very 'smooth' and they don't leave a harsh aftertaste in my mouth. I've picked up a warm leathery note in the maduro, which I love, and I think both kept their profile from start to finish. I think I almost burnt my fingers smoking both to the nub.

Now the questions from you more experienced puffers:

Both wrapper got soggy towards the end, what am I doing wrong?

Also, can you folks recommend some similar blends I might enjoy from other manufacturers I might enjoy?

How do the Serie O and V relate to these? I bought a box of each, and I think once I'm halfway through, I'm going to order some more.

Regards,
Randy

Welcome Randy!, the series V are a bit like a punch in the face compared to the O and Gs so make sure your prepared, but the Vs are fantastic very smooth and complex. the G beli Mads are among my favorites. similar ones I would have to go with the Rocky vintages La glorias cubana series R 5s. The Nubs are fun too nice full flavor but rather uncomplex.

The O's are similar to the G's in strength and body. The V's and Master Blend are stronger and have more body. I like all of them.

I assume when you say the cigar is soggy it is on the head of the cigar (what you put in your mouth). If this is the case you are slobbering (not meant to be insulting) or keeping the cigar in your mouth too long. It is best to keep saliva away from you cigar and only put it in your mouth when taking a puff.

Some cigars make me slobber due to their strength, when that happens I have to clip of the end once or twice to keep it from getting clogged.

Welcome Aboard Randy!

The "soggy" issue could be as John described above or possibly a humidity build-up as the cigar is smoked, as a result of the ambient humidity or the cigar's humidity itself.

The G's are O' so yummy!!!!

But... Now that I think of it... All Oliva's are yummy!

As far as soggy goes... Keep it between your fingers or your ashtray, & outta your pie-hole!

I too like the G Cameroons. If you like the Cameroon flavour, I would suggest the H Upmann Vintage Cameroon.

Soggy head can be caused by slobbering or smoking too fast. G is intended to be mildest, O medium, and V strongest.

I think you nailed the soggy part, I was smoking it too fast.

I picked up a Serie O in both Maduro and Habano wrapper. I can't wait to try them, as they're both just chilling in my humidor for a few weeks. If I win this latest auction, I'll be adding a Serie V... yummmy!
