Can cigars be "refreshed"/refurbished?

My wife has some good cigars that she bought in 2002. She never put them in a humidor until now. From 2002 until now, they've been in the box they came in and are as crispy as you can get. None have any mold or rot on them...

Is it OK if I put them in my coolerdor for several months to "save" them? These cigars are really hard to come by and would like to save them if possible. I remember the week after she brought them in... I smoked one and fell in love! It was my first real cigar and it was the best tasting thing I've ever had. She has 10 left and I would love to enjoy another one of these days.

Yes they can be refreshed, but search the forum for the proper way to refresh them.

They can be slowly re-humidified but they will never taste the same because all of the essential oils have long since dried up. Most likely you will just end up with a very harsh, bland cigar.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did a search and it seems like they are already ruined. I'm sure the oils are all gone, but I won't know until a few months from now when I try one. What a shame too as these are hard to come by.
