Shrinking Cigars

The last box of Partagas Gigantes that I bought were visibly different from the past. Normally these big boys take up every bit of space in the box. But these new guys rolled right out and were noticably thinner. Quite a different heft and feel. The seller is certain that the box wasn't mislabeled. Has anyone else ever had an experience like this? Is it simply a bad job by the rollers or do factories play with the specs on some production runs without making it known?

Re: Shrinking Cigars

Could be low humidity. They're prone to swell up with moisture and shrink when dry. Cigars kept in varying humidity often get wrinkled from the expansion and contraction.

If they are light and small, they are under humidified.

Yep! You can take a cigar that has a band on it that won't move and over time the band will be so loose you can slide it off. This is due to the cigar shrinking a bit.
